Bitdefender anitvirus plus 2014 - your thoughts

Hello,

I've just purchased Bitdefender antivirus plus after reading a number of excellent reviews. However, I have subsequently seen reviews that are not as favourable and it has me a tad worried now! I need the best protection on my PC as I use the internet a heck of a lot.

So, I was just wondering if any of you guys had used it before or are using it currently, and what your impressions of it are. Is it really as good as many are saying it is?

Regards

Richard

I bought it for my Mom for $20 on black Friday. So far, I like it and am using the other license on my personal machine. It catches things that AVG/Avast didn't and isn't a memory hog. It also keeps my machine humming with windows updates etc. Good purchase I say!

Thank you cypherslock, I like it too. I got it from eBay UK for a meer $20. A whole lot cheaper than if buying direct.

Anyone else like to comment? TY

After trying various anti virus software over the years, I finally found one I love, Webroot. It is so fast and light, and seems to catch everything. I have had it for a year and a half now, highly recommend it.
    I'm in Lincolnshire too.
    Cheers Suzy

    @smb111,

A Lincolnshire lass, that's cool... nice to 'meet you'. Never heard of that one. I tend to go for a product with the best reviews. Shoot me up anytime you like if you need to bounce any ideas.

    Hey Richard,
I am actually a Geordie lass living in lovely (flat) Linconshire, lol.
I picked webroot after several days of research and frustration with all previous anti virus software. I hadn't heard of it either, but it was the amazing reviews that got me to take the plunge, and it's definitely the best anti virus software I have ever used (maybe I should get an affiliate link for it lol!) I think the only caveat I found is that it has a great discount when you first buy it, (I got the full shebang, 3 pc's 2 mobiles(can locate, disable or wipe if lost) for $40) However the renewal was about $119 I think, which gave me a nasty shock! I didn't renew, let it lapse for 1 day, then bought again at the super discounted price, cool.
I'm totally obsessive about researching products before buying (due to been scammed a few times in the past, lol) that I also spent 2 weeks researching web hosting, before choosing one I am now extremely happy with (and thankfully I didn't go for the gator).
Anyway might hit you up in the New Year, it would be cool to chat to another (local!) IM dude, Merry Christmas, Suzy

I've been using 'Vipre' for over 2 years, and it's the best anti virus I've used...and I've tried at least a dozen in the 10 years I've been online

I have used Bitdefender in the past, but not the 2014 version. I would choose Kaspersky or Bitdefender in any day over the other products. As you know, no Antivirus/Firewall could give you 100% protection, but for home or small business use, these products are good enough.

I've been dealing with AV software since the mid 90's and switched to BitDefender 2013 almost a year ago... I've been happy, no issues on my machines and it's lightweight. The only thing I have noticed is it will throw a malware warning on some newer web pages that is a false positive. Oh well...better safe than sorry.

      Cheers.
