what is the easiest screenshot software/tool that you have used?

I use SnagIt from the same company that makes Camtasia.
Works great for all my screen capture needs.

Snagit a great paid tool, this is the one I use now

I use Fireshot. It is a Chrome extension. The best screen capture extension I've ever used. That's no empty endorsement either-I've used so many screen capture extensions in the past it isn't funny.

I use SnagIt for smaller images that fit on the screen. If I want a screen shot of an entire webpage to use in some of my sales letters I use Website Snapshot.

I use Greesnhot, you hit prt scr and it automatically saves image to the root folder of your choice, and its free!

I have been using Skitch, by the Evernote people. I have enjoyed it and find it easy to use. Plus it makes it super easy to add writing/pictures/arrows to your screenshots.

I use fast stone capture for screenshot and even for screen recording.

You can also us Alt + Ctrl + Print Screen

Lightshot print screen tool is awesome!

Doesn't do everything that SnagIt does...but it's close. When you've captured the image, you can then choose to click the online button and edit it rather then just saving it to your hard drive...It will open up a browser where you can then edit it there...

Oh, by the way....It's FREE.

Fireshot for Firefox for capturing full pages. Print screen (on your keyboard) if it's not in a browser. After I hit the print screen I go to Photoshop, create new document and hit paste. If it's not for something I'm working on in Photoshop i'll use snag it.

For a static screenshot I also agree the Windows Snipping Tool. Already installed on my laptop and simple to use.

I use Snagit as well, but it's a paid app...just glad you can also make videos w/it as well!

Alternative FREE apps, are:

* Windows Snipping Tool
* ScreenHunter 5 or 6

"Print Screen" works, but then you have to further edit picture to take out what you don't want to include!
