Strange as they are saying themselves that someone got into your VPS and sent these spam emails. I would have thought that it's easy to see you haven't personally sent the spam yourself.

Why not move to another VPS elsewhere?

They are saying that his VPS did it. Not that someone else did it. If he really didn't do it then he was hacked/exploited. Still it's his responsibility.

No stay away from them. There numerous problems with their service currently. Loads of people on here have been having downtime.

Why not check out web hosting forums, they have loads of offers on VPS'S.

Try KnownHost.com - Your high quality managed VPS hosting provider

I switched to them from HostGator after EIG bought them out. The service is better than what I received from HG plus it's about half price.

      Cheers,
      Coby

      No.

      Don't use
      - Godaddy
      - Yahoo
      - 1&1
      - Dreamhost
      - the 50+ EIG brands, including Hostgator, Bluehost, Justhost, iPage, Fatcow, etc

There's some horrible advice being given in this thread. Beware!

If you want a good VPS host -- and still want to leave Namecheap (and it really is a good host!) -- then consider Knownhost or LiquidWeb. It all depends on what you need. Based on comments so far, you need to stick to managed VPS hosting. Perhaps a no-root plan from Site5 wuold be good too?

Some of my other posts have covered hosting more in-depth.

I've used Namecheap and never had major issues like you experienced. Check out these sites, compare, then decide:

    iPage
    bluehost
    inmotion hosting
    webhostinghub
    globat (glob@t)
    ixwebhosting
    knownhost
    a2hosting

    Goodluck!

I am currently using namecheap and I have had absolutely no problem with them. If I do, I will surely update you. I used to use bluehost and they also provided good service (nice tech support). I also have a domain registered and am using hosting with Host Gator, again zero problems. Good Luck

Managed or un-managed? If its managed then I find this very unlikely that this happened but please do let me know more about it. I'm matt[at]namecheap.com

If it's un-managed/self-managed - its your server that you are responsible for securing and locking down. We don't want IPs to get blacklisted. That said, even for un-managed customers we always help things get cleaned up and back on track. So I would like to hear more about the issue you faced.

Thanks for the positive word of support from other happy Namecheap customers on here
