Robot Author-Any reviews From Users?

Has any run this tool (Robot Author-http://www.robotauthor.com/sale) though its paces?
It looks like it actually makes some very decent, original articles using Artificial Intelligence. It was demonstrated live in a webinar and the articles looked pretty good.

VERY pricey though-$1997

Anyone looked under the hood?

  • Okay. I've just wiped most of the previous posts from this thread. It got ridiculous.

    Suggestions:

If you haven't used the product, you cannot reasonably claim to review it.

Send sales or support questions to the sellers via email or private message. For PMs, the usernames would be briankoz or successmc. Asking them here turns it from a review thread into a sales pitch, which isn't allowed in this section of the forum. It's unfair to ask those questions in a place the seller isn't supposed to reply. Either they cross the promotional lines or look like they're ignoring people.

    • I got in months back when they first released it to a select group of their clients as an early beta.

I can tell you this... They've made a ton of improvements both in features and the article quality over the months. Using Robot Article to its fullest extent does have a little bit of a learning curve to it, but it's not hard at all if you follow the instructions, watch the videos they provide to the members, and so forth.

Once you get the hang of picking the right keywords and optionally the titles, it'll make the difference between getting a good to excellent article and getting a not so great article. After you do it a few times you should learn pretty quickly, though.

And having said that, yes, I use the articles myself. And I've been selling them on Fiverr.

If you guys have any other questions, just send me a PM. Ill try to answer as best as I can.

Good question. But this is similar to saying that if you hired a writer to write 10 articles on chihuahua dogs that she would only write 1 article and then just change a few words to make 10 articles that were almost identical. Instead, you expect each article to be unique. Which, for a human who just wrote an article on a specific topic, can be a challenge because she would remember what she just wrote and be biased by that.

Robot Author creates each article from scratch even if the keyword is the same. It doesn't write one article and then give the same or similar article to multiple people. It doesn't remember a prior article and just rewrite it like a human would.

Robot Author is more akin to hiring 10 people to write 10 articles. Even if you gave them all the same keyword of chihuahua dogs, each article would be unique even if they searched online to get ideas. The same would apply if you have 1,000 people writing 1,000 articles on the same topic... you'd get 1,000 unique articles.

If you requested that Robot Author write 1,000 articles on the same keyword, you would get 1,000 unique articles.

I hope that answers your question. Once you see the actual Robot Author results for yourself, you'll get a better idea of the high quality unique content it produces.

    • Duncejj,

There's a difference between spinning and writing unique articles. Spinning won't work unless you have your own article to begin with (unless you want to risk legalities by stealing content from others). Spinning doesn't give new thoughts.

Ours is artificial intelligence to research and write unique content. It's in a completely different ballpark.

In the end, you get the value you pay for.

  • Pretty boring webinar! Not enough info on what and how it does what it does and why it's better than some very good cheaper software. They do not show you how the software works on the webinar, that would be very helpful to anybody seriously thinking to get this $1997 product. Includes 8000 credits but then it costs .25 per article or any product review content after that.

The replay webinar does not have control of fast forward or skip to what you want to watch, That is very annoying and wonder why it is still used?

p.s. that is what I remember from watching the replay, check it out for yourselves!

This is done by Brian Koz that I have bought from before and Shawn Casey. I have followed many of Shawn's ( membership software, franchise for web services, just to name a few) products for may years but I will pass on this one for now!

    • [QUOTE=dougdority;9088254]I've been giving it a whirl... has potential. So far I haven't gotten an article that I would feel good about publishing without some work, but given that it is written by a robot it's not too bad. Honestly, I haven't decided if it is worth the money yet. That said, I can certainly see it being a big deal if it continues to learn and improve itself over time as they claim. We shall see.

      Doug,

Thanks for giving it a whirl!

Robot Author does learn over time, especially if you let support know of examples when it doesn't do well. But be sure to watch the training as the difference between a bad article, an okay one, and a great one often has to do with the keywords that you pick.

Having said that, there will also be a massive update in two weeks that will improve this a ton even for bad keywords. We've made another breakthrough that is getting programmed now into the main software. Yes, so you don't have to ask the question, you'll get access to this update because members get free updates like this.

  • Webmind, not quite -- RA is artificial intelligence that will research other content out there and come up with it's own articles that make sense, aren't just spun articles, and are unique (unless you pick the option to have the full AI turned off and do what's called rewrites off).

There's not a keyword in every line -- although a couple articles in the past may have been keyword heavy in a small percentage of them made, we recently did an update to help in that area. We also just got a new update out a couple days ago that improves the quality a ton, especially on keywords with very little researchable content.

The internal testing on the new update shows that 0% to 5% of an article will be showing any similarities to anything else out there, which is better than most manually written articles.

    • Can you post a recent sample article since the last update. The Chihuahua article in the earlier post contains many redundancies. Actually it does sound like a spun article. Thanks!

  • Batchos and Miphize, I'll address each of your posts here separately in one post...

Miphize, if you got mostly bad articles with it, it probably means that you were targeting improper keywords and/or titles with it. We had training inside the members area on that (a short video explaining how best to do just that), but the vast majority of people rarely watch that stuff. If you wrote support, they could have easily helped you. On top of that, I have two extra comments: 1) If you bought in London, that means that it was quite a while back as we haven't been there in a long time, which means that you had a much earlier version where it was more sensitive to the keywords (since then we've coded it so it outsmarts others if there are bad keywords entered) and 2) if you got any kind of an error, it may have been during one of the times that we were in the middle of server upgrades, but even then we save everything done so you'd still get the article made and an e-mail notice (but perhaps it might take several extra hours if it was in the middle of the upgrade).

Also, as a quite update, Miphize, after looking into your account, it definitely seems to be improper keywords. One of your keywords, for instance, that you wanted the AI to write an article on was "Understanding your business objectives is our business objective." Even a human writer wouldn't know what you want there, as that's not an article topic at all. In fact, I asked one of our normal writers if he'd understand what to write off of that keyword and their reply was "Not at all -- I'd need more details on what they're even talking about." And if a human writer doesn't know what you want, an AI won't either.

As you'll see in this thread, there are happy clients getting good results with it.

But either way I wish you would have just asked the support for help (and follow through on what they suggest) instead of assuming that it was always like that or that it was bad. I would have liked that much better than being told that I'm a liar and a scam, especially when we have a 30 day money back guarantee.

Batchos, the articles are written by the AI which is always getting new updates and improving a ton. Our latest round of updates includes being able to handle topics that have a lot less content out there (previously if it couldn't research a lot, it would have issues as would any human), improving the quality of the articles even on the harder topics, making things almost always highly unique (95% to 100% unique typically, which is better than most manually written articles), and general improvements like that.

Next on the list are improving some topics on reviews, being able to have "top 10" type articles more easily, and being able to answer short or long questions as articles too ... as well as a cool update to writing for very localized terms (like towns) better.

But below is a brand new article it wrote without any editing, and it was the first article that popped out (so I'm not picking "the best" example from a batch or anything). To be completely transparent, I'll point out two things with it: 1) It's about growing strawberries, and there's one line about blackberries and raspberries in there that I thought was odd to have it in, but it even then flows well (and the AI is being tweaked now to pick up on that stuff more in the next update) and 2) you'll notice one or two lines where technically there's an improper use of a comma (it still reads well and flows well there, but the AI is designed to write like the everyday person on the topic and this type of language use is very common nowadays, so what we're doing in a near future update is allowing you two options -- have 100% proper use of grammar or write like the average topic in that niche is).

You'll also notice that it's 100% copyscape passed with 0% content found there.

And keep in mind that this isn't even the best example I could have gotten -- I just wanted to be transparent because this was the first one made when you asked, but I'm happy with the results there.

    Here's the unedited first-try-once-you-asked article:

    Growing Strawberries

Strawberries are one of the most profitable substance crops to grow in a small home garden. Growing organic strawberries is truly profitable whether you are growing them on a commercial standard or simply a small backyard garden to provide fresh strawberries for your family. You have to change your garden for planting strawberries, once you have decided where you will be growing strawberries. When you know how to grow strawberries in a container garden you really can grow them anywhere, even if you live in a flat with no yard. Growing strawberries in your home garden can be a profitable and exciting experience. You can use virtually anything as a container, some people even learn how to grow strawberries using tires, through conventional pots work simply as well.

Both blackberries and raspberries will commonly yield an average crop of fruit the second year after planting and a full crop the third season. The healthier and more vigorous the plant in its front year, the better your crop will be in the harvest year, when growing strawberries. Intensive activity is necessary, because of the quality needed in growing a crop like strawberry. You may end up harvesting strawberries all round the year, with regular re-plantations at distinct intervals. You may determine that you desire to grow something else, after enjoying the original premium of your crop. The berries are real perishable, so do not pick more at one time than you can care effectively.

Day-neutral strawberry varieties will continue to produce fruit throughout the growing season as long as temperatures rest below 90 degrees Fahrenheit. When picking your strawberries use a fragile hand, as the fruit is soft and will tend to bruise rather easily. Day-neutral varieties can bear fruit roughly 3 months after planting, if favorable growing temperatures rule. When growing day-neutral strawberries, pull off only the front set of blossoms and after that allow the fruit to set. Day-neutral varieties can fruit and flower throughout the growing season if temperatures are medium.

Strawberry plants grown out of strawberry seeds take approximately 3 years to start and develop flowering. Strawberry plants live lots of years but fruit production will degrade after approximately three years. Your mother plants' production will begin to turn, and at that point it is best to dig them up and start all over again, after four or three years. All types of strawberry plants will produce better in subsequent years if all their energies are devoted to establishing themselves and producing healthy runner plants in the early year.

Strawberries are the front fruit to ripen in spring and early summer. Planting strawberries is best done in the spring, but as long as you hold your new plants well watered, fall or summer will work as well. Each strawberry plant produces the maximum strawberries the early spring after it is planted. The everbearing strawberries do not create runners but fall and produce three periods of flowers and fruit during the spring, summer. Strawberries are one of the primary plants to fruit in the spring. Fruiting starts after 60 days, commonly when strawberries are scarce.

    • Just to follow up on some of the comments as an actual user, Brian is right in saying that there have been a lot of updates that are making Robot Author better and better. Even before the updates, you could get good quality articles, especially if you got over the fairly short learning curve.

I jumped into it without listening to the instructions and got less than stellar articles at first, but after I followed the advice in the tutorials it became very easy to get good content written fast. And with the updates I've seen them do, it's become less important to be as careful with the keyword selection and such, so I'm a happy camper.

Some articles now will come out perfect to near perfect, whereas some others might need a couple sentences to be edited up, but literally I can do that in a minute's time if need be. It's definitely a great tool in my arsenal and has helped me get a lot more quality content out there. I use it myself and use it to sell articles to others too, who so far all my clients have all been happy with the results.

And the review type articles that they've added as an option are very cool. I know there's updates that are talked about there, but as is I'd say those are pretty cool with very good quality.

The article that Brian showed above as an example I'd say isn't even the best of ones that you could get with it, so I believe him when he's saying it's the first one he got when asked and not the cream of the crop.

All in all, I'm very happy with Robot Author and the quality it produces, and I'm even happier that they're continuously updating it with very noticeable differences.

Send me a PM if you have any questions, Ill see if I can help.

      Thanks

  • Batchos, the above example was after a newer update, but keep in mind that even before the update (which we update a lot and often and always will as is the nature of the project), some articles would read perfect, some would need a few tweaks, etc. if RA was used properly -- the updates just make a larger percentage flow and read better.

As for the first two sentences reading awkwardly, I re-read it twice myself and ran it past a couple other guys, and we all agree that it reads fine to us. But having said that, EVERYONE will always have their personal preferences whether you have Robot Author or a human writer write for you, and that's partly why we're working in features that allow a bit more customization to the AI with what it can do.

As for your other point, I don't know what reviewers you're referring to, but it doesn't take much to know that they don't know what they're talking about. Robot Author is designed to research and write like a person -- not spin stuff like spinners do out there. As such, to say that Google's Algorithms would smother RA is like saying Google's algorithms would smother any and all content on websites. The day that happens, Google will no longer have a search engine or any content for that matter on it, so there's nothing to worry about.

As for spinners, yes, Google has ways of seeing that stuff, but that's just not even relevant here.

But having said all that, we're constantly updating RA and always make useful updates when needed.

If you have further questions, feel free to e-mail me at brian@webfire.com.

    • True, the sentences are grammatically correct but they both sound like lead in sentences. The first sentence talks about strawberries in general. Then the next sentence introduces organic strawberries. So I think what's missing here is a bridge (one or two sentences) between strawberries (general term) and organic strawberries (niche specific term). The bridge helps the reader understand what strawberries are before having to consider organic strawberries.

I'm not trying to be picky, just pushing the limits of an innovative breakthrough. I am intrigued by the potential of this software, especially when I read about how the technology is already used for commercial purposes.
  • Batchos, that's why if there's a specific sentence that you don't like, it's super easy to change. And in the near future, you'll be able to click any sentence to have a new one almost instantly. And that's of course on top of updates that we'll continue doing as the AI gets smarter and smarter and adapts to more topics.

    - Brian
  • For those procrastinating over not being able to jump to whatever part of the webinar replay they want without having to watch it all, why not just download it with something like "Flash Video Downloader" and skip to wherever you want to be?

Secondly, if the price tag is out of your range, why not get 9 other people together to invest $200 each or 19 to invest $100 each?

That way 800 or 400 articles (depending on how many in the syndicate) will only cost .40 cents each.
  • Blerma / Ben -- We don't sell individual articles or ebooks to users, but certainly there are some users using Fiverr and selling them.

Kellio48 -- the webinar isn't too long as webinars go, and we have it that way so you can see plenty of examples and learn exactly how it works to be the most informed. As for big group buys, we're normally against that as that can cause tons of issues down the line (like one guy could still all your credits). Also, I'm not sure how you did your math on the per article price, but it's not $0.40 -- it's actually $0.25 per article (and you get those free credits with the purchase making it slightly less than that even).

    - Brian
  • I signed up a few days ago to test this out. Here is my review so far.

The articles don't flow properly for any of the topics I have tried. They sometimes start out ok but then they jump into random sentences. It seems like the bot needs to be taught the structure of paragraphs. You don't toss in random unrelated sentences in a paragraph. They are all supposed to be about one topic. When you move on to a new paragraph the topic is supposed to be a subtopic not another bunch of random sentences.

I was also on the webinar and asked a few questions. I asked can the tool create articles on topics like "the best organic coconut oil"? I was told yes. I logged in and the first thing I see is a warning telling me that the tool does not work well with topics like that. I also asked can the tool make articles on multiple keywords. I login and I see in the video that is says not to use multiple keywords.

I tried to use the mimic feature on a review and it just gave me an error. I asked support about it and they said I could try to use the beta review tool. It only lets you post reviews to a blog. I don't want to do that and the reviews I saw in the webinar are way to short and don't compare to quality review articles.

I have only run about 10 articles but it is enough to tell me that the quality is about half what it needs to be to worth the price for me. In my opinion this content is only good enough to be used on autoblogs. This in no way lives up to the hype.

I think the tool does have potential but it is a long way off from being a tool that is ready for a full release. If in the future I see it working much better I would consider joining again but right now waiting for that is not an option since I only have 30 days.
  • Hey Balric,

    A few comments:

    1. If there's a weird article, just pass it onto support with the keyword, title (if you picked one), and the article itself and they can take a look to see why that might be. Often times it's because you're being way too specific or way too broad ... or because there's just not enough content out there on a particular topic.

    2. Coconut oil should be fine, but depending on the keywords or topics you're asking of it, it might be tricking the AI. But either way, just pass it onto support and they can take a look as we suggest if you ever find anything odd.

    3. Mimic feature -- if it's giving an error, you'd have to ask support on what that might be as only they would be able to look into your account, but chances are that you might be asking it to make a review when there's no content out there on it, but just pass it onto the support and they can address it.

    4. As for the review writing option, we certainly could do an update to have the reviews be articles by themselves vs. posting to blogs, but we have cool graphics and formatting built in. And the format we follow is the exact same format that myself and others have proven works. People don't want to read 10 page long reviews. That sucks. What they want typically is a summary of the product, a pros and cons list, a conclusion, and a call to action. That's the format that those follow and the exact format myself and others typically follow well with success.

We don't want to break what isn't broken on the review part.

As far as trying it out, only giving it a couple of days without seeing what the support can do in terms of either tips or having the AI look into the topic more (by letting the support know -- easier to update) is a bit of a rush. As for the value, we're talking about a $0.25 article, so I think the value is definitely there, and it will continue to get better and better on all the topics out there, but if there's issues, please take advantage of our support so they can fix that for you.

    - Brian
    • [1] reply
    • Balric, from my own experience using Robot Author, it can work great if you know how to use the keywords correctly. I sell articles it makes on Fiverr as well as use them myself. But starting out I was the same way as you -- I didn't fully know how to tell a good keyword from a bad one, but if you watch the first video they have and ask them for help, the learning curve isn't that bad at all, and then you have an awesome way to get quality content for dirt cheap.

And the beta phase means that occasionally there are weird topics that might give the tool some trouble, but on the rare occasion that I spot one now, I just write Jill from their support and she always has a solution quite fast there.

And to comment on the reviews, I like them the way they are actually, and even though it's not a main part of the tool .... at least at the time it was a bonus -- not sure on now if that's still the case .... I find that to be one of the most useful features of the whole thing. It's a nicer review (and I get it faster and cheaper) than the vast majority of writers I could hire to write one.

After all, I'm getting my articles and reviews for 25 cents each in a few hours. That's 95% cheaper than Fiverr. It's much faster. And I never have to deal with fickle, unreliable, and inconsistent writers at 20 times the price on Fiverr.

      Thanks!
  • GodfatherBond, if you were on the webinar (or saw a replay before they're taken down), there's plenty of examples on there. In addition, this thread has a few examples as well in it of articles too. A recent one I posted here a few posts up on 4-23 on Growing Strawberries as just a quick, unedited example (first one -- not even picking the best of the best).

Also, RA has a 30 day money back guarantee on it if you want to try it out for yourself.

    - Brian

  • Never mind, I see the link up above, but it looks like that offer is over with? The clock has run out, but I'm not sure if that really means anything.
  • OK, I've gone through the webinar. Certainly seems interesting enough.

A couple of questions, though. First, suppose you have a site that posts articles on a subject that is updated Mon.-Fri., like the stock market for instance. Can you create posts specific to that day, say for instance if you wanted to update the closing pirce on a certain sector of stocks each day that the market is open. Will RA produce an article with the desired info that is readable and does not contain extraneaous info that is not needed (although manual editing can be done, I suppose)? Or, do you have to keep things more general, like for a more strictly informational site?

And I've completely forgotten what my second question was, so I'll leave it at that one for the moment.
  • Blazon1, for product specific questions, please just e-mail me at brian@webfire.com as the mods here like the keep the review threads as reviews and not support / question threads.

But to quickly answer you, the AI works by researching the topic and then writing based upon what it reads. If you're looking for it to update stock info in real time, that's probably a bit beyond what it was designed for as that's more of just numbers instead of writing (although hypothetically it could write on topics that day if there was enough content out there).

Right now it is designed to create normal articles (even super lengthy ones if you want), but we're also tweaking it with an upgrade so you could optionally get super short answers too (like Q&A type answers if you want).

    - Brian
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
    • [1] reply
    • OK, not exactly what I meant, I was thiniking just like a daily update article that would include some figures rather than real-time updates.
  • Blazon1, you definitely can get it to post daily to your site. But I'm not sure if you mean post about events in your market that are relevant to that day ... for that it might depend on the market and the amount of content out there for that, but that'd be pretty interesting to see what we could teach the AI to do there if it had to be specific to a certain timeframe.

If that's not what you're asking, just e-mail me and I'll see what I can do for you.

    - Brian
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Hello Brian,
In the sourcing of information for articles, does RA find data, such as statistical information?
Such as: "It has been calculated that 25% of the world's strawberries are grown in the UK." Or 50% of children in the UK, aged 7-15, said they did not like strawberries." Or "The Journal of Nutrtion states that: of all plants, strawberries contain the seventh highest concentration of Vitamin C."

    Thanks
    Gregster
  • Gregster, the artificial intelligence does research the topic very fully. In some cases that can mean reading thousands to even tens of thousands of pages out there. And yes, it will often come across many statistics.

There's a good example we show off on the webinar of an article on sleeping that gives stats similar to that.

  • Hey rc842,

    Two comments:

    1. If your articles aren't appearing that great, chances are that it's a keyword and/or title issue (whether or not other articles show up is only part of it). And if that's the case, we suggest that you e-mail our support with a copy of the article and the keyword(s) and title(s) that you picked so that they can look into it.

From there, they'll either suggest a better set of keywords or titles to target (some people think they have perfectly simple keywords or titles, but sometimes the keywords aren't as straightforward as they think and even a human writer would have issues), or they'll pass this onto one of the coders to look at to adapt the AI to work better for those keywords / topics (this helps us help you get better results).

If keywords aren't done right, you can get some articles that don't come up all that great. If you do it well like we show in the examples, you can get some great ones.

    2. As far as the expense, it is $0.25 per article in the end (if you look at the credits compared to the cost), which is impossible to beat anywhere else.

So in the end, I'd encourage you to contact us first to see what we can do for you. We're always updating it (often times each week there's a new tweak or major update done), so if we're aware of any weird topics, we can adapt the AI faster if it is indeed just a weird topic.

  • It's funny that you mention that.

We've actually been having multiple discussions lately on how to best make the AI detect when to bypass a user's input (like if their keywords really suck or if the titles make no sense at all). A lot of that is built into it already, but we're looking to add a lot more into it over the next short while.

Ultimately the goal is to have it so even if a user asks for something ridiculous (like a weird keyword that makes no sense), it would do its best to guess what that might be.

It's a super fun project to see all the progress its been making and will continue to.

  • I am waiting for a few issues to be resolved with these guys before I make any comments and also post a full review. The way a company does business is just as important than the tool itself.
  • Verv, there's already tons of comments in this thread, and we're always updating it constantly (the project will never officially end as the AI will continue to get smarter and smarter, especially as we see weirder topics and such pop up so we can help adapt the AI to learn faster there).

It has a 30 day money back guarantee as long as you don't use over 400 credits, which is essentially us giving you 400 articles for free -- can't really get much better than that, especially since our support will get back to you in one business day or less if you have an issue, and if you have any problem at all with an article, we can either look at it and offer suggestions as to why or adapt the AI to help there too.

Bluecoyotemedia, we've been in business a long time and have one of the best customer support teams in the internet marketing community. If there's any questions or anything, you can always feel free to reach me directly at brian@webfire.com, but our main support should always get back in a day or less with any questions you might have as well.

    Take care,

    Brian

  • Stewart, there's a decent amount of info and feedback already on this thread. There's not much out there on it because A) we've only opened the doors to a handful so far and B) we didn't do a big affiliate launch with it yet (it was a special introductory deal prior).

But we do have a 30 day money back guarantee where you can even keep up to 400 articles for free in that time if you don't like it, so it really is completely risk free for you.

If you use it right and follow our instructions, it can work well.

    • I'm really interested in this software but "It can work well" doesn't sound to sure in my honest opinion. $2K is a lot of money for most of us to invest. I saw some reviews but it seems the content is not 100% unique according to CopyScape. Don't want my websites to be banned from Google..........

In your video after 1:06:22 you say:

"Not a single sentence will be found anywhere online - all written by artificial intelligence." Clearly not true.

Please give us some more information and proof.
  • Cabenb,

Here's a few comments regarding your questions / posts here:

    - The "it can work well if you use it right" simply means that you have to use common sense and not try to trick the AI. The rule of thumb there is that if you can't ask a human writer to research and write on a particular topic, you probably can't ask the AI to do so. For instance, having it write on "How to Grow a Strawberry Garden" would work, but asking it to write on "Underwater basket weaving on Pluto" would not work well because it's either a made up topic or at least one that has little to no information available on it. We have training to really hit home on this point.

    - As far as copyscape, you can have it be 100% unique with nothing found on copyscape if you use the software correctly and watch the training. There's two options when writing articles with the AI as we've explained tons of times even here. The option I like the most, which is completely unique, is where not a single sentence will be taken from any source, and the whole article will be completely unique. This uses the "full" AI. The second option is where you can optionally have it so it's "partial" AI where it takes a maximum of one sentence per source and puts the sentences together where it makes sense and flows well. This is probably what you're referring to above, and in that case, the article as a whole would be unique but not each sentence. But you have the option of doing either.

    - Your comments of you not wanting to get banned from Google -- you really shouldn't be worried at all about that. Not only can you easily pick the full unique option, but you can also optionally go through and edit anything you want (even in real time with just clicking any of the sentences if you don't want to manually change anything) if you're worried. But having said that, Google doesn't even penalize or ban you for duplicate content (a common myth), so you especially won't have any issues there.

    - As far as more information and proof, we show off actual examples, including real time editing of articles using the AI if you want in our latest webinars, that you can see on the calls, so that's about the best proof we can offer on top of tons of satisfied customers. Plus we have a 30 day money back guarantee and full support and training, where we always get back to you in one business day or less. Can't really offer much more of a guarantee than that.

    - As far as the price goes, with the special offer pricing that you saw (that's a limited time deal there), it's less than 25 cents an article ... and you can now do real time instant edits with the AI to tweak it any way you want. Compare that to Fiverr where the quality often isn't nearly as good and where you pay $5 an article, and you can see how this can really be a great deal (and that doesn't even touch on the fact that you can make that 25 cent article be as long or as short as you like).

If you have further questions, feel free to hit up the support.

    • Thanks for your quick response Brian.

You refer to the last webinar and say there is a ton of proof. I'm sorry but you're just showing some results and don't show the software at work. I'm not the first one to tell you this but you seem to persist in your idea the webinar is great. I really think for a $2K software tool you could have done much much better. I had to download the video to skip the selling talk about how great it is and how cheap. Very little time you spend on showing the software. That's not what I expect from a costly software like this. Yes $0.25 per article is cheap but $2K is a lot of money for most of us. The least we may expect is solid proof and demonstration of the software at work.
  • Cabenb, about half of the webinar is showing off the software and the articles. If we did much more than that, then some people would complain about there not being enough content. If we did less, then some would complain about there not being a longer demo. We can't make everyone happy, but it's a happy medium here.

And the original webinars didn't show anything live because A) it takes anywhere from 10 minutes to several hours or more for the AI to do all the research and writing (no one wants to wait that long) and B) at the time we didn't have real time editing with the AI programmed in. Now we actually do have real time editing with the AI built in, and in the last webinar we actually did show it off live with how it can write in real time any changes after its made. So there is a live demo of that part that we've shown on the last two calls. At the time of my original comments months back, that part wasn't live so we couldn't do that.

We not only show off results with it (even from the same day with articles made right prior to the call as we can't have you wait for 10 minutes to a few hours), but we also show off the real time AI editing feature where it writes new lines or paragraphs even instantly on any piece it already wrote for you.

On top of that, we have a 30 day money back guarantee, and within that period, we allow you to use up to 400 articles for free and still get all your money back. That's 400 articles that we'll make for you for free that you don't have to pay a penny for even if you refund. No writer would do that even for just a few articles.

And yes, although the per article fee is dirt cheap, to get started with it isn't for everyone with the price. We have a variety of tools -- some inexpensive and some expensive -- which cater to vastly different types of clients and budgets.

For further discussion, feel free to write our support if you have questions.

    Thanks,

    Brian

    • I'm sorry but I don't agree with you that the webinar is clear enough. You made your point and it's clear to me now that you don't mind what information potential buyers want or need before paying $2K. Apparently you sell enough this way. I rest my case............
  • Cabenb, the webinar shows examples of what the software does, shows off the software itself, shows off brand new articles made the same day, and shows those articles themselves being instantly changed via the real time editing feature too. If there's something that you think isn't clear, that's why you can ask live questions on the call or e-mail our support with them. We answer all questions asked, so I'm not quite sure what your point is.

But again, feel free to e-mail us with any questions if you missed the live call.

    • Brian,

The point is that you think you provide clear info for your $2K product but you don't and I'm not the only one who is asking for more info and prove. The pages you show in the software are static pages. That is not showing the software at work. It would be normal to show the process from start to finish. Including a check in Copy Scape etc. It's clear to me that you are convinced of your software and the way you sell it. Your choice but for me it's the reason (and I'm sure I'm not the only one) to pass.............
  • [DELETED]
  • Cabenb, what you say is only half accurate. Yes, we show some static pages, but we also show some articles inside the software itself (with the latest two demos at least -- I have no clue if you're viewing one from months ago or a more recent one). And in real time ... live ... we show how the AI works with even being able to make up new sentences or paragraphs (or edit the existing sentences) in real time from the articles that it already made. This shows it in action in real time ... not a static page.

In the latest two demos, the articles themselves we made the day of and showed them off inside of the tool. This is because when the AI initially does the research, it usually takes anywhere from 10 minutes or so to several hours or so. It's physically impossible, unless you want to kill attendance and conversions, to show that process live from start to finish, as in some cases, the crowd might have to wait there for hours. People don't want to wait hours on a call to see that.

We also have other software that we sell and show off live demos. In fact, one of those has eight tools in one. Usually we show off a couple of them live (the faster ones), and then we show saved searches or screenshots of the remaining ones to save on time. People seem to really love that format, as we'd get complaints on longer or even shorter demos for that.

Your suggestion on showing off a check on copy scape actually isn't a bad idea, and we can perhaps do that if we do another live call with a special deal. So that is a pretty good idea that I like.

But if anyone else has questions or whatever, that's why we answer every question live on those calls and have support that always gets back in one business day or less.

    • Brian,

I watched the latest replay so I've seen the latest video.

It's common use to pause a video/webinar when a task takes some time to process and start again when the results are there.

If you will broadcast a next webinar or video with more info and life proof I will watch it because if you can proof your claims I will certainly buy the software.

      Enjoy the weekend!
    • I happened to be invited to one of those earlier webinars and at the time if I had the money I would probaly have purchased the software. Even though it was explained why the cost per article it think it was something like 25cents to cover server expenses or somthing I dont realy believe that if you pay such a high price for something that you should also have to pay on going costs.
I think that there should be a limited amount of free articles-posts etc (mabee 20-50 a month or something ) then pay as you go if you you require many more.
But as I said it was several months ago and it might even have been the first release of the software so mabee you already have somthing like that in place. So please correct me if I am wrong
  • Cabenb,

The problem with what you're asking (just pausing a screen part way through a webinar and restarting when it's live) is this: Imagine you're on a webinar and I have the AI start the research process, which takes anywhere from 10 minutes to a few hours (all done in the background with our servers and nearly impossible to know the exact length of time) ... if it takes 10 minutes, sure, that's easy. If it takes two or three hours, no one in their right mind will stay paused on a webinar for a few hours. If it was on a video, sure, but we do the webinars live to prove that it's all real as anyone can edit a video to make anything look good.

That's why we had a couple articles made the same day and the day prior to show off inside the tool, as well as why we made up for that by showing off the editing live (as you can add new sentences or paragraphs with one click of a button instantly for up to one week after an article is made).

I wish it was something that the servers could do in seconds, but that's just not feasible at the time (although definitely was something we have on the radar, but it's very, very expensive and very, very complicated to do cost effectively).

That's why we allow you to use up to 400 articles that you can keep for free and still get a refund within 30 days to try it out. There's zero risk in doing that, but if someone isn't interested in trying it out, that's perfectly fine by us.

    - Brian
    • [1] reply
    • Brian,

On a webinar I understand and perhaps you are right that anyone can make a good looking video.....

If you're so confident about the quality of your product why don't you offer a lower priced version with a higher article cost price? Or a monthly price to make it interesting for a broader group of people?
  • Cabenb, there's tons of reasons why we went the way that we did structure / price wise. The biggest one is that this still isn't available to the general public yet. It's like a special "before launch" access. Another reason is that we'd rather deal with a smaller amount of high end clients than deal with people only looking for one or two articles (if you sell cheaply like that in small quantities, you start to lose money in acquiring them and supporting them).

We will be raising the per article cost in the future, as well as a yearly licensing fee to get access to it. But the special offers that we sometimes run lock people in at the super low per article fees now, don't have a yearly licensing fee, and they get a bunch of article credits instead of the normal licensing fee by itself.

Again, there's probably a hundred reasons why we went the way that we went, and there's no plans to change any of that.

As far as confidence goes, that's why we offer a 100% money back guarantee for 30 days and let you keep up to 400 articles for free in that time. You can't get any more confident than that, as each article has a raw cost to us, so we lose money on those if someone takes 400 and runs. And I bet if you went up to a human writer and asked if they could write you 400 articles, and then say that you'd only pay them if you liked all of them after a month ... but if not, you wouldn't pay them and would keep all of their work anyway ... they'd probably laugh at you.

    • Brian,

Thanks for all your answers and explaining. I think it over again ;-)
  • No piece of software to date is capable of "writing" anything. Not in the way that you mean.

The example of output text on the first page of this thread made me LOL. Repetitive much? I can't review the product, but I can review this.

Dog breeds aren't discovered, they are selectively bred, by humans. This is an example of the program picking up a mistake written by someone else and then just plopping it into the article.

The section on "history"...contains no historical facts. Come on, people.

It's good to know that they remain puppies for 30 years.

Picking up on someone's typo...but not smart enough to realize it.

    Oxymoron.

Poorly written sales copy from someone's website.

I can tell you with absolute certainty that no program or "bot" can create "decent" content. It will produce garbage. That isn't going to change any time soon.

Machines cannot understand context. Therefore, they cannot create cohesive content. All they can do is scrape content off the web and rearrange words, commas, etc.

    This is not content.

100% of the time, the articles that these programs produce will have embarrassing context errors that you might not even catch. Some of your readers will.

    Don't waste your money.

    Also...$2,000? Really?

Give that almost $2k to a decent human writer and you will be making a sound investment.
  • Ghoster, you're actually greatly mistaken in several of your comments. First, if you know anything about the state of artificial intelligence with understanding context, you'd know that what you're saying is provably false as several top universities are doing just what you're saying "won't be possible for another 30 years."

And no, it doesn't just take lines and rewrites parts of it. That's what a spinner might do, but we're not a spinner (although we are working on a project where we're making a smart, AI spinner, but that's different).

And if you saw any of the examples that we showed off on the call, you'd see that most people would agree that it's the same, if not better, quality than a lot of writers you can get out there. Sure, can you pay a guy $100 to write an absolutely awesome article? Yeah, if you find the right writer. But can you get a $5 or $10 guy to do a lot better than this? Probably not in most cases, and you're only paying 25 cents.

    • All I'll say is that you're basically claiming is that your software can pass the touring test. SO where is your Noble Prize? Why are you fishing for a measly $2k a pop? Go get a grant from DARPA and live big.

All you did there was take my points of contention and throw them back at me. Which universities have figured out how to build software that can write content off the cuff that would fool human readers and that understands linguistic context? I think what you are referring to is what is known as "chat bots." But these programs have all of their content programmed into them by the engineer. They are not capable of creating anything original.

If you are claiming that your software actually understands how to use language, and doesn't just scrape content form the Web, then again I ask you, where is your Nobel Prize?

You can absolutely get a $10 writer to produce content that is 100x better than what I read on page 1 of this thread. Absolutely without a doubt.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
      • [1] reply
  • Ghoster, you're referring to the turing test. That's actually already been debatably passed by others, but estimated at the very least to be passed very soon by others (proving your statement wrong right there), and it has less to do with writing articles and more to do with answering questions with a human like response (completely different). Google it if you don't believe me. Case and point.

And the article example on page 1 isn't the best example. Some articles aren't always made the best (poor keyword choice, poor title choice, etc.), which when that pops up, we either have the support point out the training on how to do better at that, have the AI adapt it itself, or accelerate the AI learning to deal with different topics.

Also, if you don't have full AI on, it will only take human written sentences, which can have errors, and put them together. But when you have the full AI on, which I recommend, not a single sentence comes from anywhere and you'll be less prone to human errors like that. And having said that, if there's ever a sentence that you don't like, for seven days after an article is made, we have a real time sentence and paragraph re-writer, where you can click it once to pick a new sentence that it writes within seconds. Don't like that one? Click it again and you'll have a new one ... and so on and so forth.

I've worked with a lot of writers in my time ... from $5 to $50 guys. And I can safely say that our AI has beaten a lot of them. Sure, some of the writers are great, but there's a lot of them that I paid out $25 or so to where I'd be happier with the 25 cent article, but I also follow the training and tips on how to get a good article made with the AI.

As for advising me on how to "live big" with your business plan ... not to be cocky or anything, but anyone and everyone seems to offer their business plans here without really backing it up with any prior, relevant successes. My partner and I in this combined have sold over 400,000 customers over the years on various different products -- both low end and high end offers -- and we know a thing or two about how to grow a business to make it successful. We're both very happy with our current plans and the success so far of it, and that's before we've even done a public launch.

    • Thanks Ghoster. You made it all clear to me.

Brian: To many doubts and you're not capable to take these doubts from my mind. Also the way you respond doesn't convince me that you work for your customers. In every answer you sound irritated and indignant. I skip this $2K 'product'
  • Cabenb, if you're not convinced that I work with my customers, then I'm sorry that you think that. I've responded to every question here right away, reply to all my e-mails usually within a couple hours or less, and our support always gets back in one business day or less.

I don't mind prospects asking questions, even hard ones. And I especially don't mind suggestions, like one that I really liked from you. What seems to sometimes happen are a couple guys who've never seen or used the product, coming in and bashing anything and everything. And that's on top of mentioning stuff that has nothing to do with the product in question.

At the end of the day, everyone has a right to buy or not to buy a product. That's their choice. We have a 30 day money back guarantee with an additional guarantee that you can make up to 400 articles that you can keep for free in that time even if you request a refund. If someone doesn't want to try it out for themselves or ask me any relevant questions, I'm perfectly fine with that as that's their choice. Those that decide to work with us we'll do our best to take care of and make them happy.

If you really are that confident about the quality of your product why not giving away a free trial for let's say 10 articles? Or a low priced subscription for 10 days. Why let people pay you $2K upfront? It doesn't make sense to me at all.

Since your articles or not 100% unique I'm afraid they will hurt rankings since your software will leave some footprint
  • Cabenb, as I've stated already in this thread, we're not giving away free trials or cheap subscriptions. Why? Many reasons. One being that free ones would just encourage people to take advantage of that and sign up over and over again without ever paying. Cheap ones would cost too much to acquire new customers and would end up losing money on support and everything else. And lastly, it's just not the business model that we're targeting right now. It's the same reason why you can't buy a $15k Rolls Royce, even if they could sell more units that way.

Also, as I've already explained multiple times here and elsewhere, the articles can be 100% unique if you wish. There's two options -- full AI where it's fully unique and partial AI where it takes only one sentence tops from each source and puts it together where it makes sense and flows well. So again, that kind of answers your unique question there.

But having said that, as an unrelated side note, having duplicate content won't necessarily hurt your rankings or your traffic, despite what some say. A quick search of the top sites out there will confirm that, as many use duplicate content. Google doesn't like spammy sites that add no value but to trick them, which is kind of common sense I think too (and the rule of thumb I use on stuff like that). But again, you can get unique articles through the AI if you want.

I realize that a lot of people want a lower price point or want to get in for free, but we just can't do that with the huge raw costs that we have here and the business model that we're going after. And quite frankly, for a lot of people out there, our price is an absolute steal even without our discounted offer. I know of guys using thousands of articles through us that are saving a fortune on what they were doing before, and that's kind of the market that we're going after. A 30 day money back guarantee where you can get up to 400 articles for free in that time and still get a refund is more than fair in our opinion.

And if you have further questions or whatever, please do so over e-mail as I know the moderators here hate these kind of posts that slowly become less and less of a review and more of support type questions.

    • Brian,

      Thanks for answering again.

I understand that you don't want to loose money here but what you're asking is to pay you $2K and I have to wait and see what I actually get.

Do you often go to a tailor shop and pay the owner $2K after he told you you're getting a nice suit and you just have to believe him? You have to pay him and you get a packed box that you can only open when you get home and after you have paid. Sounds weird don't you think so? ;-)

Why not selling articles at cost price on a trial for lets say 10 articles so people can decide if it's worth the $2K?

If your quality really is as good as you say I bet you will sell a lot more for $2K
  • Calenb, that's what the webinar and examples are for, as well as the 30 day money back guarantee where you can get 400 articles for free just for trying it out (and still get a full refund). You can't do that anywhere else in the world that I know of. I doubt you could get a human writer to write you 10 articles for free as a trial even.

That's what the refund guarantee is for. What you say might make sense to you, but in reality, it doesn't in the real world. If you give out articles like that, everyone tries to game the system. Trust me -- we've been at this a long time and know a lot about it. We're not catering towards people who can't afford it or don't want tons of articles, so we don't plan on changing that.

    - Brian
    • [2] replies
    • You're not really answering my question.

You can prevent people gaming the system. What's wrong with a paid trial for 10 articles for let's say $50?

Only serious people will try don't you think so? After they buy the $2K product you can refund the $50.

I think that would proof more common sense then repeating that nobody gives a refund after 30 days and 400 articles. That's not what I'm looking for. As a seriously interested buyer I would try to see if what you say is true but not when you want me to pay $2K upfront.

      Good luck Brian!

  • Cabenb, sorry, that's just not our model or our target market that we're going after at this time.

Totalyrecycled12, you're mistaken in how you think you heard how the article credits work. In fact, it gives you WAY more than what you are suggesting would be nice. During the special discounted offer period, the fee that you pay includes 8,000 credits for free, which is under 25 cents an article. After that, it's only 25 cents per credit after that if you need more. But that's only the discounted "pre release" price. After that, there'll be a yearly fee plus a higher per article cost.

  • Hey Chris,

Thanks for your question. I'll answer it here, but in the future, I know the mods here prefer sales questions be directed to the support's e-mail.

As for local market keywords, we actually did an update at some point (I think a few months ago but I forgot exactly when we added that for this feature) that actually has a special option just for that. Originally, it was hard to find content for something like "roofers in Madison" as there's just not a ton of content to research on that, so the AI couldn't learn much there. However, we adapted it to do something like this: it researches "roofers" in general and then writes an article about general roofing stuff with talking about it being in "Madison" (in the case of the example). This way you could get a local market article done that would look much better.

Hopefully that makes sense to you, but if not, feel free to write our support. But in short, the answer is yes, you can now.

MACHINE GENERATED TEXT AND THEN BANNING SITES THAT POST IT.

  • Hey Marc,

I got an e-mail from you at 2:30 am this morning. Less than a half hour later I got an alert that you posted on this thread. I just replied to you (8:19 am) via my personal e-mail but just in case I'll answer you here too.

As for you e-mailing the support with an error a day or two ago, I just checked and it worked fine for me and other support tickets were going through, so that's definitely odd but I'll have a tech check it out. You also said that you e-mailed them "for two weeks" -- we answer all of our support tickets within one business day or less, but sometimes replies can end up in spam filters and such. If you e-mailed them and didn't get a reply, please forward me the e-mail and I'll double check with them in case something happened. I want to always make sure that any questions or issues are dealt with quickly.

And as you see, I also personally answer all e-mails to brian [at] webfire.com very fast as well.

As for your question, we've never had anyone have a banned account over Robot Author. Google has been "cracking down" (not banning -- just not ranking the content I'm about to explain) on machine generated "spinning" where it seems to be spun poorly. That's not what we do (we're not a spinner). A lot of spinners out there will take an article, translate it to some language like German, and then translate it back. The text it gets is horrible and reads very similar to all the other ones generated. This is NOT what Robot Author does and RA is NOT a spinner. RA is the only tool out there that researches and writes unique content when you select those options.

Plus you can easily edit any of the content it generates on top of that to your satisfaction. So it wouldn't be any different than hiring a writer to do it for you. And, of course, the more you follow the RA best practices / tutorials, the better quality you'll get and the better results.

    Hope that clears it up.

    - Brian

Has any run this tool (Robot Author-http://www.robotauthor.com/sale) though its paces? It looks like it actually makes some very decent, original articles using Artificial Intelligence. It was demonstrated live in a webinar and the articles looked pretty good.
