I use adobe after effects for video editing, if that is what you have in mind?

I don't know of any free alternatives though.

Would love to hear from other also. I´m trying to figure out what to use for myself.
I have Adobe like indesign, photoshop, illustrator and some other but not after effects.

Is it easy to use? I´m more thinking to make video from article with slider and text.
Still I want to be able to have professional work

I use Camtasia for all my screen capture videos as well for the ones I record with my webcam. It's a nice program to use not to complicated and it comes with a lot of different options! I guess Screen cast o matic would be also an option!

I use Camtasia Studio for recording videos for online courses and the like.

There are some free alternatives i.e. CamStudio, Webinara for recording training etc., however cannot really say whether these free alternatives will do all that one wants to do.

Still are an option if price is a factor, to at least investigate.

    Hope this assists.

Easy Video Suite is a paid software that records, publishes, markets and tracks.

Some of the top well known marketers use this software and the web address is easyvideosuite.com

Easy Video Suite is another option to consider.

Sony Vegas will help you with making simple slide show videos and its cheaper than Adobe.
I use Adobe CC (this gives me access to Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Premiere Pro, After Effects and more) for monthly fee.

I also use Camtasia for screen capture work. Out of interest at the moment I use Camtasia 7 to record and reduce audio then move into 8 to use more features. The audio removal in 8 is not as good as in 7.

I´m using Adobe for everything else. But I dont have after effects and I feel it little to expensive for what I´m going to use it for.

This Sony Vegas. Is any effect coming with this or is it only simple slide software ?

        Hi there

I used Vegas for the first three years I made videos for others
It includes some simple animations and effects and you can purchase more if you need them. Its not as powerful as the Adobe Suite, but at around $80 its WAY cheaper to get started. I think if you look around you can pick up trial or demo versions to test it out too.

Also, just check a search on YouTube to see more of what it can do to see if it features what you are looking for

Camtasia, definitely! I love it, it is complex but simple at the same time. It is a bit expensive but worth every penny!

I´m sure Camstasia will do what I need. Question is if I´m ready to spend 300 usd for it. I think that is the price

Camtasia is excellent. I purchased it a couple of years ago when it was a lot cheaper. It really is simple to use. I have a Yamaha Audiogram6 mixer and a Sure microphone and together with Camtasia it does all that I need.

It depends on what you're trying to do. Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premier, Adobe After Affects all have their uses.

For a screen recorder I'd go with Screen flow or Adobe Captivate (the best imo)

For playback I like JW Player.

Well it depend on your requirements what type of video you want ?

I am using Adobe After Effect for Animated videos and

Camtasia for simple video recording and editing.

Both are working fine with me and i am very satisfied with their performance.

I have tried several options and Camtasia Studio is by far the best. Yes, it's a bit pricey but you will not need anything else.

If cost is an issue and you only want to record a short video (5 minutes or less), Jing is free and does a good basic job. Similar is Cam Studio.

It depends what type of videos you are trying to make. That said, my favourite is windows movie maker. Absolutely free! It has more feature than the best paid software.

Your question is too general. It depends on what type of video you want to create. Some software will make simple videos. They are easy to learn and are very effective at presenting your message. Some of the software is hard to master and more difficult to use. It just depends on what you want to do with it. For example I use Wordpad word processor for notes and Microsoft Word for reports and more advanced word processing. There is no learning curve for Wordpad, but there is a learning curve for Microsoft Word. It just depends on what you want to get out of the software.

You mentioned quality videos. It just depends on how well you know the software and how creative you are. You can own the best software and still make crappy videos. It just depends on how well you want to learn the craft.

      Here are some ideas:

Screen Capture - Camtasia, Screenflow (Mac) - Cam Studio - (Free)
Video Editing - Camtasia, Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere, Screenflow (Mac)
Advanced Animations - After Effects - Flash (I would learn After Effects instead)
      Animation - Go Animate
Simple Video Editing - Windows Movie Maker, iMovie (Mac)
Slide Presentations both static and animated - Powerpoint, Keynote (Mac) - You will also need to have Camtasia (Windows) or Screenflow (Mac) to record the presentation to video.
Slide Shows - Pro Show Gold or Producer
      Whiteboard - Sparkol

You can also edit videos in Photoshop. I know Photoshop CC and Photoshop CS6 edits. I am not sure about the other versions. You can make really cool animated gifs or Cinemagraphs with Photoshop.

There are tons more software that are very good and do the job well. It just depends on what you want to create and how much you want to spend.

Go to Youtube and search for examples and then decide for yourself which software to learn.

      I use and know:
Camtasia, Screenflow, Powerpoint, Keynote, Premiere Pro, Sony Vegas, After Effects, Flash, Photoshop and Proshow Gold because I have both Mac and Windows. I can do anything I want and can create really powerful videos.

Though for IM I tend to go simple and use Powerpoint/Camtasia or Keynote/Screenflow to create the video. Even just with these I can create pretty impressive animations. I never do text animations. It is always animations with drawings and images. If I had to limit myself to a small set of software to use I probably would use either of these combinations. It just depends on if I am using Windows or Mac.

I also use Camtaisa, I tried some free video software in the past and it just did not get the job done so I finally decided to upgrade to Camtasia after many Warriors recommended it. I am very glad I did.

I have only used Windows Movie Maker which I believe comes pre-installed on most Pc's. Very simple to create short simple videos that you can post to Utube.

Camtasia = Best for compiling your screen recordings and combining other clips and making learning/information video products. Doesn't support certain media types.

Windows Movie Maker / iMovie = All around great for making a simple slideshow or any other video quite quickly, e.g for a quick promotion of a product.

Adobe Premiere / After Effects = Professional video suite, lots of features, but it takes time to learn and be really good to make videos like the pros. After Effects templates make it easier to get started with it.

Really depends on the type of video you want, as each software has a varied feature set.

If you are looking for actual video editing I would NOT recommend Camtasia Studio 8.

Many of the top camcorders today create their HD videos on AVCHD which Camtasia CANNOT import. (even Windows Moviemaker can do that).

Best choice in my opinion is Sony Vegas Platinum (about $80). Excellent.

Now for screen capture Camtasia Studio 8 is great.
