RAP versus Affiliate Pro

I've heard many good things on this forum about Rapid Action Profits (Rapid Action Profits) and, following a brief exchange of emails with Sid Hale last week during which I established that it will do (almost) everything I want, I was just about to put down my $177 and buy a copy.

Then, by chance, I bumped into another internet marketer at a networking meet last week. From speaking with him I got the impression that he knows his onions but, when I mentioned buying RAP, he suggested I should buy Affiliate Pro (Affiliate software,PHP affiliate network tracking software) instead.

Affiliate Pro is just $49, so less than 1/3 the price of RAP, so on the face of it a good deal. And it seems to offer a bunch of stuff like cookies, variable commission payments etc. too, just like RAP.

As I've never used either before, I'm at a bit of a loss as to which one to go for. If anybody has experience of both, I'd certainly be interested to hear your thoughts.

Thanks,

Andrew

    Andrew,

Your best bet is to do an 'apples to apples' comparison. I don't know Affiliate Pro, but there's a lot that RAP will do, that people don't realize until they get into using it. Big thing is making sure that it fits your business model.

    Post back any questions here.

    Thanks,

    John

I bought Affiliate Pro and ended up returning it. There are bugs in the current version which prevent reconciliation of your affiliate stats, rendering the product essentially useless.

Worse, I submitted multiple support requests and never hard back on any of them. Their forum is full of people complaining that they are receiving no support.

    I can't recommend it.

Thanks guys, my decision is now firmly made up.

$128 extra to buy RAP is a fair lump of extra money, no question about that at all, but my understanding is that I can then use it on multiple sites so it's not as though I will have to keep buying new copies. And it's certainly far cheaper than a few months of 1 Shopping Cart's affiliate solution, or even a few weeks of InfusionSoft's (not within my budget at present, regardless of how good it is).

And if the extra $128 buys me a product that is (within reason) guaranteed to work well, and recommended by almost everybody on this forum ...well it's money well spent because I'll soon waste that in time battling with an inferior product.

I'll just add here too that I had a pre-purchase support query that I raised through RAP's help desk, and got a friendly and helpful response from Sid Hale himself within 24 hours. If post-sales support is equally good (and I have no reason to assume it won't be) then I'm sure it will be money well spent.

      Thanks for the advice,

      Andrew
