Warning! Using GetResponse with Epic Squeeze

Hey Warriors,

If you are using Getresponse with the Epic Squeeze page please check your autoresponder. Everything looks and works correctly except the optins are not going into the autoresponder. My Squeeze showed getting 53 subs but Getresponse showed "0"

Here is the fix I received from support:

Getresponse has recently changed the format for their webforms
and added a parameter to it that is screwing up Epic's recognition
engine.

What you need to do to make it work, is remove a piece of the code
that says &u=XXXX <= XXXX being any 4 characters. Remove this piece
(including &u=) and everything should work for you.

I hope this helps,
Tom

Hi, are you sure this fix is working ? I dont think the webform in Getresponse will track everything now. My trackers are counting way more optin as i am getting in Getresponse...

I was using Getresponse with Epic Squeeze. And yes the fix did work for me but I have gone back to using a simple squeeze page just in case.

I'm the partner manager at GetResponse.

If anyone has contact info for someone at Epic Squeeze Pages, please PM me.

I'll reach out to them and see if we can't get this sorted out.

          Cheers,

          Mick

Any updates on the issue with Get Response! I would like to use it but can't seem to get it to work.
I have implemented the suggestions Tom made (quote:What you need to do to make it work, is remove a piece of the code
that says &u=XXXX <= XXXX being any 4 characters. Remove this piece
(including &u=) and everything should work for you.)...

            Still no luck...

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

            Thanks,

            Baz

Perhaps you're not dealing with the same issue.

The original problem was ZERO opt-ins in GR whilst epic reported a successful opt-in. It was an error in the form code where epic misreported a successful opt-in - the email was not sent to GR.

the taking off &u=hfg code off should work but if that doesn't work just simply choose other on Epic Squeeze and add the html version code of GetResponse.

    Problem solved.

    Thanks Manny, for the tip.

When I try it the new sub doesn't get redirected to the target page specified but goes to a GetResponse page saying they have been added to a mailing list.

It seemed to work fine with 6 digits but not now GR is using 7 digits

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Copy the html code of your webform with "Include css styles" = OFF, Go to Epic squeeze page, chooose Autoresponder as "other" instead of Getresponse and insert the html code. It works fine. I did the test with different email id's and works perfect

Haven't been able to make GR and epic squeeze work together consistently... might switch to aweber or just go back to using my BIM lp software instead. It's frustrating to have such a stupid problem...

    Thanks Tom,
I am using GR and EpicSqueeze and have tried opt-in but no success. Checked with GR support, and they say will get back to me, but still waiting. And They asked me to check with my hosting whether it support webform script etc.

I googled for this problem and found this suggestion by Tom. And I removed the code immediately and bingo, it works well. Thanks Tom for the post.
