Hi all,

Has anyone used this site? I saw it on the home page of a website - it seemed to show all of the visitors and the IP addresses they came from. It also would show peaks and valleys during site visits as well.

Again, has anyone used this?

TIA

Can't say I have. Would be interested in finding out as well.

They were one of the very first analytics services. I think Extreme and SiteMeter are the only two still around from that era. HitBox and NedStat were both absorbed into other companies.

Why is this the case? Is it that this information is no longer relevant or are there other ways to get the same information? Inquiring minds want to know

Most people use either Google Analytics or StatCounter nowadays. I prefer StatCounter since Google Analytics has a history of slowing down page load times. That problem comes and goes, but when it's there it's a problem.

SiteMeter and Extreme are more straight forward. SiteMeter has some big sites using it. Extreme isn't very popular anymore, but it's solid if you need something simple.

Just try them all and see which one you like.

          Thanks again for the info!

Can these sites be used to track down the history for a particular website? With extremetracking, I saw that the site had periods where they got more hits than when they did not (so, it would indicate that they were seasonal - more active in the summertime) which made sense given what they were selling.

Will Google Analytics or StatCounter show this information? Or, do I have to go somewhere else to find it?

They cost a good deal of money to use - right?

For $5.00 a month, that's nothing for that kind of information.
