Hi, Sharon! I hope I will manage to post this before the thread gets closed and deleted, and you get yourself banned. Caveat: coming from a friendly newbie to another friendly newbie so do your DD.

Do your homework *before* buying or committing - this exact subforum contains reviews, sometimes a bit too disgruntled and thus discouraging but every time you feel tempted to grab a product cos the clock is ticking, it might help to pop in here for a quick check. Google before you buy, and bear in mind that the first page will be probably populated NOT with real reviews but affiliate pitches. Even if you google "product X scam" it will most likely get you more affiliate links as this is a creative way to get traffic and sell, sell, sell. Don't get paranoid; just be prepared. If I may say so: you go to the supermarket and buy food, and you are more or less safe; a trip to the internet marketing jungle may be potentially dangerous. Your previous message, as the moderator aptly put it, was going to attract every shark and sharkling around. The umbrella company might be called JV Zoo but it is a futuristic zoo, like this one. It might be safer to treat it like a jungle and take enough ammunition, like common sense.

Be open-minded with a healthy dose of scepticism - as a rule, unfortunately, most advertisers have NO experience with the product they are advertising. I used to get mad about this but then, to be fair, the big media producers making gigs for big TV networks do the same. Shooting the messenger is as pointless as shooting DrOz. The danger here is that relationships on the WF psychologically shorten the distance; the presenter might seem friendly, really caring and all (and they may well become friends in the future) but, in general, they are only interested in you as a prospect to sell to. Nothing personal, just business as they say. Keep your thinking hat on, you will soon find out who to trust and who to avoid. I have found it really helps when the creator of the product is obviously involved with feedback from users - there are some excellent guys like this; you will soon find them.

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. But sometimes you can find a gem or two or three; even for free (like, real free, not "free but you need to pay 100 USD for XYZ").

Brainstorm/mindmap/doodle your ideas; read, read, and try the ideas on, will they work for you, will they fit your interests, personality, skills. Actually, this should be your starting point. This is all fun but treat it like a real job.

Good luck, and keep posting. There are lots of people who actually will help; but you need to ask specific questions.

P.S. I decided to post cos some time ago I posted a similar SOS thread, "Where is the newbie survival guide?"; subsequently deleted it. It can get really confusing and intimidating when one is starting over. Not recommending any particular product because I have no idea what Sharon would be interested in.
