VoIP and instant messaging software Viber is collaborating with the World Health Organization (WHO) on a chatbot to help fight misinformation about the COVID-19 pandemic. This partnership gives WHO the potential to reach over 1 billion users in their local language, direct to their smartphones.

Per Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director:

Once users subscribe to the chatbot, they will receive notifications with the latest news and information straight from WHO. Through an interactive quiz, users can also test their knowledge on the coronavirus.

The chatbot is now available for free in English, Russian, and Arabic, with more than 20 languages to be added soon.

If you're using Viber, you can join the WHO chatbot here.
