Facebook rolls out Educator Hub

Facebook is launching a new Educator Hub for US users, and is aimed to help students, parents, and teachers with vast educational resources that focus on improving learning outcomes and digital literacy. Facebook explains:

"Back-to-school season looks different this year due to COVID-19, and parents, teachers and students around the world are facing a myriad of challenges, from remote teaching and learning, balancing work and home responsibilities, and most importantly, maintaining the safety and well-being of all involved. That's why we're launching an Educator Hub to support teachers and provide resources across our apps to help people navigate the new school year, stay connected and take care of each other."
Educator Hub also has sections dedicated to mental wellbeing and teacher connectivity, as well as a section on teaching racial equality.

Facebook joins the fray of Apple, Google, and Microsoft with educator-centric tools to help the academe, making it a little easier for distance learning newbies to adapt to the new normal.

    I laud their efforts for doing this but I hope this also comes with beefing up the learning/education features they integrated with Facebook groups. The learning units, badges and messenger rooms are a good start. And a lot of people are already using it as an informal online classroom. If they can add more features like a feature for quizzes, grading and attendance, it would be much more useful.
