    I am currently in SoCal and would love to meet up with some fellow Warriors.

    On a side note, I might be at BLANKSPACES Freelancer Fridays (on Thursday!) this Thursday. It is a free* networking event... free food and drinks.. at their location (free if you sign up at least 3 hours prior to the event.) Starts at 6pm this Thursday. (it is the 3rd thursday each month)

      OK Guys, If its ok with everyone I would like to take charge of organizing the Meetup. It will help me keep motivated.

      I am thinking the best time will be in January after the holidays.

      How is Jan 14'th which is a wednesday at 7pm in west LA.

      There is a starbucks on the corner of Pico and Robertson with a larger table but I will look into other places as well if we have more people.

      Would like to suggest some place with parking (and free at that.)

      Yeah, I hate to pay to park a car =)

      Not sure what area is best for everyone (I am out past Simi Valley.)

      I have had some meetups at Panera Bread as they have free WiFi, lots of outlets, lots of tables and seem to not mind people meeting there.

      One is at 501 Wilshire Boulevard, Santa Monica, CA 90403 and I think it has free parking behind it.

        I'm a life-long LA boy who only recently moved up to Ventura, but I still come down to LA for work and play and I'd love to get to know you all.

        As a long-time creative director with a background in mainstream advertising/marketing (Fortune 500/Hollywood), I know I have some skills, abilities and insights that bear on what we're all trying to do here...

        Over the years, I've done a lot of things online (including website design, creation and implementation), but I only recently decided that it's time to make money online! I'm bone tired of the 9-to-9* rat race (one of the reasons I moved up to Ventura) and want to find a way to live the illusive "Internet marketer's lifestyle."

        You know the one, where you set your own hours and make good money. I don't have unrealistic expectations, but I am an optimist and I think with my smarts and skills I can make this work... somehow, someway.

        Right now I'm trying to figure The Arbitrage Conspiracy course out (yes, that one!). I've been posting in the thread on the subject and I've also got a blog going (see link below) if anybody's curious to see what I've learned/done to this point.

        I won't be able to make the 18th as I've got family in town, but I'd sure love to hook up with y'all at some point, and feel free to ping me too!


        * And that was a short "typical day." Ugh. Frequently it's like 24/7, 365.

        My chosen profession (and if I'd known back when, I would have chosen differently), was entertainment advertising. You know, movie posters, DVD packages, standees, etc.

        What nobody told me was that it is the only profession/trade in Hollywood that produces product for the industry that never unionized. It's "white collar," you see? We all went to college and stuph. But it doesn't in any way, shape or form prevent the studios from treating us like slaves. "We need it yesterday. Wait. No. We need it day before last week."

        The pay used to be great and is still good by most standards, but the conditions suck and they continue to deteriorate. Can you see why I don't wanna do it anymore?

        Mamma, don't let your sons grow up to be entertainment advertising creative directors...
