2012 European Warrior Event [update: imminent]

Yes, I would be interested.

Might I suggest that quite a lot of research is done beforehand, since there are a lot of events in London most of the time. There is a vibrant "pitch-fest" culture which results in events clashing with the spin-off being that nobody wins - audience are irritated since they want to go to both events, and sales impacted.

I have strong views about pitch-fests (since the promoters take half the take, leaving the customer having paid at least twice as much as he needs to have done for his product or programme). It is my belief that a fully-funded educational seminar would be a FAB idea. Charge a modest amount (which will cover the entire costs of the seminar when it is say, 60% full). Then people know what their outcome is, it gets rid of the freeloaders AND the greedy gurus, and everyone wins.

Quite a few Seminars are held at Heathrow, in the hotels there might be a good option then it makes it easier for people that are travelling by plane etc as well as it has an underground station, plus they have parking. I have been to some in Central London and they are a pain to get to and really expensive for hotels etc

Wow I am so happy this event is gaining as much traction as the USA one. It;s time for Europe to shine!

Some people have asked about dates... This is a really rought idea but it perhaps does not make sense to clash with the American Warrior forum event (although i like that idea), and instead will make it 2 weeks after their event, which makes us mid to late June.

We still have time to discuss dates but that is a rough guideline.

Priority now is to spread the work on WF and see if we can get 50 to 100 potential attendees in this thread before we step up organisation to concrete plans.

Sounds interesting, a great way to meet some warriors without travelling for 14 to 20 hours. Heathrow would be a nice location. I live near Amsterdam, so it would only take me an hour or so to get there by plane.

I was also thinking of going to Sam's event in the USA, because it is a great way to meet up with him and other people I know there. If the events are at the same time, I would have a hard time choosing between the two.

Gerber this will not clash with the USA event. It will be 2 to 3 weeks after their event, so that people like yourself can attend both.

And i'm very happy it is truely turning into a European event now simply a UK event.

This is the first one, I dont expect it to be easy to organise but the momentum and messages are sure giving me some inspiration.

Firstly thankyou for all the supportive pm's I am getting, there really is some momentum building and its exciting.

However, I am also getting some strange pm's from people who are obviously not the target market for this event. So lets address some issues.

Dan, i can only guess your post dissapeared as you are promoting soemthing off topic. Go start you own thread for that and dont hijack this one. IT is very clear what this event is about, dont bash it to promote something else. You state its a viable event and state you might attend, then you bash everything about it say its not your cup of tea and promote someting else. Disrespectful.

Nobody knows the price yet as this concept was only born midweek and nothing has been finalised. Anyone who thinks hiring a conference facility near Heathrow for a weekend is going to be cheap or even free, is perhaps not of the business level that would ideally be fit at the event. Lets not forget that this will take some organising (many man-hours), so there are costs everywhere. If you do not understand this, then I'm almost sure you are also not the type of people who will find this event useful.

This is not going to be a please everyone event, its simply impossible to please everyone so lets just make the target audience clear. This event will be for serious warriors to hear great talks form other serious Internet Marketers, and a kick ass place to network period. Yes it is going to cost money and that is why I gave an early indication of price, which I have said is not finalised. If you can afford that and think this event offers some value to you great. If not, no worries, there are many others that this event will appeal to.

Firstly let me apologise, I didn't mean to upset you, and I honestly didn't think I was being disrespectful.

Like I said I probably will still attend, but my preference would be for a lower price tag. I recently paid a couple of thousand alltogether to go to ASW11 in Vegas so it's not that I can't pay it, it would just be my preference for it to be lower cost, and maybe my opinion counts - if you get a lot of comments saying similar then maybe that will influence the way you plan to run it..

I dont think it was disrespectful at all, it wasnt a hijack, I am genuinely interested and probably will attend as I said.

What I posted (as 1 out of 3 comments I made) was about a once monthly lunch meeting which I found out about from this Warrior Forum - which is cheap, short, and just about meeting people and networking. I don't think that is off topic - it is on the topic of meeting up in and around England and London, and as I replied to your PM I don't see why people wouldn't be interested in both, and certainly attending one has no influence on attending the other or not.

I also want to make clear that this london lunch meeting is not my event, I do not own it or run it, and I stand to make NO PROFIT whatsoever if people attend or not.

It is simply something I have attended, received value from and would recommend to people... so please don't try and paint me as the "bad guy" I have nothing to sell, no manipulative intentions, I am genuinely interested to meet with other people, to learn from them, and to help and share my experience wherever I can too, thats all...

I dont think peiople expect it to be free or cheap.

The main trouble is that London is in general overpriced, so why not pick somewhere like Manchester which has the same standard of airport but wouldn't charge as much and would allow for more people in the UK to attend.

Also make sure that the hotel doesn't come in at £150 per night and £5 per drink.

I like the idea of networking, but paying London prices is not for me.

I'm interested as long as it doesn't clash with the holidays that I'm booking.

London I can do. Birmingham is good for meets. It's years since I've been to Manchester so I'd be happy to travel to any of those.

Hi Andrew - at the moment I am just scouting the idea of London and nothing is confirmed. If we drum up enough support from outside London then I am open to consider other venues but if perhaps we find that 90% of people are from London it would not make much sense.

I wait to hear from as many people as possible before we make a firm decision.

  Sounds great, would definitely attend. London no problem. You could also consider Midlands, somewhere off M40 to knock down travel time for those North of Watford, but still only 60 to 90 mins from London.
  
  If you can try to hold it pre the UK school summer hols you'd also help attendance levels. Failing that I'd defo wait until Sept when hols are over.

Sound interesting, but why not do it in Brussels, I think it might be cheaper finding a good hotel there and it is also very central and closer for most european countries, it is also the reason why most European institutions are located in Brussels.

we were over half of the way there when we had an issue with the hotel - being a major hotel that was a big surprise, but they are atempting to rebook us asap.

We are still committed to making it happen this year, so we will update you very shortly. I have a very large list of interested parties, so even a few weeks notive will still allow for a successful event.

So, is the event going to be in Europe for the European folk, or in UK?

I hope there is a little get together in Europe somewhere early next year.
Maybe just a jam type session, where everyone contributes in groups and so on.

There are plenty of great Hostels in Vienna area, on the train lines, that have 6 bed dorm accommodation, free WI-FI, free breakfast and nice gathering rooms which hold about 50 pax or so for 10-12 Euro a night pp, or double rooms for about 30 Euro a night pp!
We could all share and take turns in offering help or coaching to the others in the group and so on.

The last I heard was that UK was still in Europe

However, the first will most definately bein the UK, but we are planning a second early next year within Mainland Europe.

I thought the real Europe was just the Schengen agreement countries!
Ya live and learn...
