I came across this thread in a search and saw that it has been inactive for awhile. I am interested in starting a mastermind group int the DFW area. However, in order for that to work certain criteria of a group have to be met and finding serious and potential members can be a daunting excursion. For starters the group has to have a common goal and not just a get together.

A mastermind is not a support group nor a brainstorming group. It must have a single purpose. What is that purpose how do you decide?

It only takes five or six rare individuals which meet weekly. After that...

This is one of those, "if you build it they will come" but in this case "if we schedule it they will come". I see that there are about 1500 views on this thread and yet no one has scheduled a meeting. People say that they are interested but no meeting yet. So...... I will! Let's get to know each other and make a million bucks!

Let's meet each week and talk about how to become successful. I will be at the Angry Dog 2726 Commerce Street, Dallas, TX 75226 waiting for everyone to show up.

This place is kinda a burger and beer place and laid back. We can grab a table and find out in which direction to go. One thing for sure is we need a support group and a master mind group here in Dallas.

You asked for some Discussion Questions for the meeting. Here are some possibilities:

• Why aren't more people successful with Internet Marketing? (Successful can mean wildly profitable, or profitable at all)
• How can we keep each other accountable?
• What is the one thing you most need to be successful? Can you get that thing? Why not?
• Where do you stand on the 'success scale'
  1. No effort no profits.
  2. Some effort (should have worked .. why didn't it?) no profits.
  3. Lots of unfocused effort no profits
  4. Focus efforts no profits.
  5. Profitable (BTW if you have your own success scale, then just be prepared to talk about where you are and what you need to get to the next level)

I may be able to make it, no promises. My day-to-day can be a little unpredictable!

It is on at 6:00 pm on Saturday but dang it! I am going to be late. Had problems at work and I will be about 15 to 30 minutes late on Saturday.

I should be able to make it.

This all went really bad! First, I got good replies from people who sent me PM and said they would make it. Then I got PM from people who could not make it. Then I got emails from people who wanted to make it and in the mean time I had an emergency at work and I never made it.

There were a few guys who made it and were completely lost but I hope they connected. I do extend my sincere apologies for letting the group down like I did.

I wanted to be a constant in the group and my desire is one way or the other the group will grow and become a successful force. But that did not happen at all.

So, let's regroup here. We need to find a place to meet that is central for everyone and meet there week after week. Voice your suggestions about that here.

We also need to find a better way to let everyone one know if we are going or not. I never really got a good head count last week and I was a little lost on who was going or not. Once again , give me some ideas how to keep up with this and then let's commit to it.

In closing, I will once again tell the group I am sorry for the mis-haps and bad communication. Let's meet agian next week and try agian.

It would be great to set up a time / place to meet somewhere in DFW for a good mastermind group. Are any of you members of the DFWSEM or local meet-up groups? Maybe we could meet at these events before or after the event and have our own time then. I was not able to make the last meeting, it was kind of a short notice for me, if we could set up a monthly meeting on a set date that would be awesome. We need to find a good central location to meet and a good day that would work for everyone. Please post what days you are open to meet, and it is a good idea to start. Also thanks for the facebook group suggestion "outdoor living" will start one and post a link shortly. : )

Agreed on the FB page...I spend far more time there than on here. Kinda moving away from forums in general, since they're not very time-efficient IMO.

Also agreed to a set time and date, as short notices rarely work out for myself. Also, a centralised location is ideal for all of us, as we all know that the Metroplex is quite spread out. Myself, I'm currently located in Keller...so, perhaps a central location would be Irving? Euless? I'm open for a bit of a drive...

These meetings offer a lot of great potential brain stroming. But if you say to yourself, its Saturday night and I do not feel like making the drive or I dont know anyone or what will I talk about or I really dont need anything or I really can not offer anything or blah blah blah blah.........

THEN YOU ARE MISSING OUT. I must say that it is the people who go the extra 10 % that have the biggest success. It is truly amazing how wonderful it is to sit and just talk about an idea or hear about a concept. In any case you are sitting with people of like mind.

The Panera Bread location seems to be central and it is great for a meeting. We took the front corner when you first come in and there is even a power outlet right next to us. It is quite and a great place to talk with plenty of confy seats.

We are going to meet there again next Saturday at 6:00 pm.

Let's have another great meeting next Saturday. Between all of the Dallas people on this thread we have such a great potential to achieve something great if we all work together.

Great meeting everyone!

A big thanks to Deborah for showing us the authority niche websites that she had created. She's using a web service that guarantees a first page ranking. It does cost a few hundred up front, but once you get your site, you can always flip it for a profit, or keep it, and monetize it.

Also, thank you David for showing us your premium StatCounter account. The analytics created for your websites was VERY in-depth. Anyone interested can get a free StatCounter account: StatCounter - Free Invisible Web Tracker, Hit Counter and Web Stats. You don't get the same level of detail as the premium account, but you still get some really good info for your websites.

Another thing discussed was getting website visits, and Facebook likes. There are two sites that were mentioned:

AddMeFast - AddMeFast - FREE Social Promotion
YouLikeHits - YouLikeHits - Free Twitter Followers, YouTube Views, YouTube Subscribers, Website Hits

Both sites are free to join, and use. You gain points by doing various things within social media (visiting sites, liking pages, watching videos, etc.) Also, when you complete 10 qualified actions, you get bonus points for the day. REGARDING VISITING WEBSITES - with YouLikeHits, you visit them manually, while AddMeFast has an auto-site wheel that keeps the sites coming through, and you still get points for "visiting" them. Great for when you need to gain points easily for your account).

We touched on Twitter marketing, but wasn't able to go too in-depth on that subject. The main complaint was not wanting to always be at the computer to tweet, or not having something useful to talk about.

For those that don't want to manually do your tweeting, you can have your tweets drip fed using Feed140:

This is a new online program that is in BETA that is giving away free accounts, for now. They also have something in the works for being able to send posts to Facebook in the future (still in development).

David also mentioned that in response to getting banned from Google Adsense, he decided to create his own PPC network. He hasn't completely pushed that forward, but if anyone would like to help him out with that project, I'm sure he would appreciate that.

For the next meeting, David had proposed that we come up with a group project that we could do as a group. Anyone who is planning on coming to the next meeting, PLEASE think up some good ideas to share with the group.

As far as a group project is concerned I was thinking of a JV affiliate contest.

On some websites (you'll have to do some research for this one), there are contests for the person, or group that can sell the most of a particular product. Each person would have their own affiliate ID, so whatever sales they generate, that person gets the commissions, but if the group gets the most sales altogether, then you win whatever prize is offered.

If its something that only one person could use (ex: car, TV, etc.) you can sell the item, and split the money. Plus, you have all the commissions that you made from selling the product. This seems like a good setup since there is an incentive for helping out others in the group, and everyone is on equal footing since everyone would be making the same commission percentage.

Just a thought. Like I said, there should be someone on this forum that knows of an upcoming product launch that would be perfect for this kind of idea.

Hey thanks for the suggestion. Warriorjv.com does exactly that. They do product launches and they offer great prizes. Everything from products to money. What I have discovered so far from talking to people in here is they are looking for a direction and answeres on what to bring to market and how to get traffic. Also how to develop an idea or product.
Do you have any ideas in that area?

David I just read through this thread and want to applaud your dedication in making sure this meet becomes a success each week. I'm up in Wichita Falls but know my son is taking a pig to an FFA show in Fort Worth on the 27th. My wife will be there with him the night before and day of and if I can get someone to watch the other kids I'll try and make it. Otherwise there are times every month or two I get down to DFW on weekends. If I can get anywhere close to Irving I will be there, laptop and all!

I am very interested. Is anything going on yet? I am in Carrollton (North Dallas area) but am willing to meet just about anywhere. I have found that the library here in Carrollton offers a conference room which can be reserved free of charge, offers wifi and can seat 14. Rooms are also available for as little as 4 people.
