UK eCommerce Site Owners

I've got a number of e-commerce sites selling physical (drop-shipped) products, some making reasonable money (if not as much as I'd like), others all-but dead, so I have both experience to share and issues to address.

I'm looking to form a mastermind group with others in a similar position, i.e. who already have e-commerce sites live and making money, so that we can help each other to do better. Chances are high that between us we'll be able to address problems that one alone may be struggling with.

To begin with at least I see this this taking the form of 5 or 6 people, talking via some form of online/phone conferencing on a monthly basis. Each meeting should last 1-2 hours, depending upon issues raised and the skill of the facilitator. On that point we can either hire in a professional facilitator if a majority wishes, or simply take it in turns (my personal preference, at least to try at the start).

Having said that all meetings will be online/phone, I think it would be a nice idea to try and meet physically one or twice each year (I've travelled to meet other Warriors before and it was worthwhile) hence I'm trying to keep this within UK so that will at least be possible.

If you're potentially interested in joining a UK eCommerce Site Owners' Mastermind Group please:
  1. Give a public expression of interest by comment to this thread; and
  2. Send me a PM saying: (a) roughly where in UK you are; and (b) with a list of niches in which you have existing websites (and have plans for websites) so we can avoid any direct competitors or similar conflicts of interest in meetings.

I'm happy to answer any questions in this thread if I've missed anything obvious.

From the lack of response, can I safely assume that either:
    1. There are no Warriors with ecommerce sites selling into the UK market; or
    2. There are, and all are more than happy with their profits?

    Paul,

Thanks for your response, I've just sent you a PM. That's two of us in the M4/M40 corridor now.

Does anybody else fancy joining us to both share and benefit from a pooling of knowledge?

    Hi..,

I'm up for it.... The main market I am in has so small a margin and high fraud rate that it has been more hassle to sell online.... but I have created a few websites for others that are successful in online sales from 4x4 offroad parts to ballet shoes.... and a few others too....

I also do web design and hosting and host over 100 websites... so i'm sure i can offer quite a bit in experience... My downfall has been time... not enough time to find the niches that are right for me... but willing to pass on my experience if i can help

    Regards

    Steve

Great stuff, I've just sent you a PM.

That's three of us now, so we should be able to get some value from the group. Ideally I'd like us to reach 5 or 6 members, but 3 is enough to start.

The way our locations appear to be panning out suggest that most of our meetings will be virtual, but we're certainly still close enough to meet once a year if we wish.

Is there anybody else who wants to join, before we hit our cap and close the door?

Great stuff. Including me, that's four of us in total with at least 3 being fairly close geographically too. That's certainly enough to get started. I'll start trying to pull something together.

Stamford, can you PM me with your email address and niches you're into, please, just to ensure there aren't any potential conflicts with the other respondents.

I spend a great deal of my time in London and if I were to put a point on anything it would be to say I do not have enough PHYSICAL products to sell.

I would be keen to join you in this mastermind group. My Skype ID is "free-internet-advertising.co.uk" and Yes I know it's a URL but it is true and NOT a plug!

    Best regards

Shall we get things rolling then?

I think so... I've spent too long on the side lines reading, reading oh and did i mention reading? pondering and erm... reading... and reading...

I'm annoyed with myself for not actually doing something...

I've finally started my own product site but need a kick up the ar... so I'm up early on a Sunday to actually do some more work on it. (Once the coffee kicks in)

So, this Mastermind group... Should / can everyone involved start and put a link to the group in their signature box if they have one. That way we may get a bit more exposure when we reply to other peoples posts.

So lets get to know each other a bit better.

As my handle will probably intimate I'm Steve

I love tech, breath tech and sleep tech....

I have been self employed a couple of time, unemployed a couple of times and then got a break when I started working for a manufacturing company. I became their IT manager and stayed with the company for nearly 10 years.

Started a bricks and mortar shop selling IT hardware and software, building websites and tech support. After 16 years I fell out with the landlord who wanted to put the rent up considerably and with the economy looking grim decided to work from home as a consultant and have been for the last two years.

    So, now its your turn....
