First Website Went Live 2 Days Ago-slow start

Hi everyone,

After a lot of ups and downs learning about how to produce a product (is an online course with ebook/worksheets/videos. And lots of ups and downs learning about the technical side of building a website. I have a site/product launched!

Now comes the hard part right?

I'm already starting to worry my landing page/ salesmanship is no good.

This is what I have done so far traffic wise:

I set up a Facebook page, started putting blog articles on there. Boosted those articles and also put an advert directing traffic to my site. I have already got a few hundred 'likes' for my page and articles and had about 200 unique visitors to my site... But zero conversions. Not even anyone signing up for free chapter give aways.

I'm new to this but I would have thought I'd have got something? The traffic is targeted. I know my niche from working in it my whole life. I know the demographics and keywords and targeted to all of them.

Fact is I have no idea what makes a homepage/landing page have that special sauce that gets ppl to convert. I know there is no holy grail but there are surely elements they have in common?

I don't know who to turn to for help. There are plenty of webdesigners out there but I'm looking for a 'converter'.

I have made some great connections in my online journey and have ppl willing to help me with traffic but there's no point using them until I know I can convert it.

Also, if I hire someone to design a converting homepage will I need them to use the WP theme the rest of my site is built in?

Sorry for the long post. It's 4am and I've been awake for about an hour not able to sleep because of this stuff going round in my head

Thanks for listening anyway!

Tom

Without actually seeing your landing page there isn't much advice to give but to
test, test, and test some more. That way you will know what works and what doesn't.

Only test one element at a time.

Here's a useful thread on the WF that might help.

    Anyways, my thoughts.

The traffic might be targeted but they might not want what you are trying to give away. A designer should be able to create a page within your theme by designing the page within your blog container and not using the template except for general size and shape.

You need to make your free offer a must have. Dont just give away some crappy offer. People are not stupid. They know that your free offer is not actually free. They know that your going to mail them promotional stuff later. Basically they are paying with their email and with accepting emails from you. So you need to make sure the free offer is so killer that they forget about all that and just have to grab it.
