What been your best investment in your IM career?

As I look back in my short IM career (6months) I was thinking of what's been the best investment I have made so far....

My stats so far..... (i'm a bit of a stato and i like to keep records)

Number of Investments - 5 programs

Last program Purchased - May 2014

Total cost of Investment - $970

Total earnings - $15350

Best month - $6400 September 2014

But this isn't about me bragging, its me wanting to know what other people best investments. This is targetted towards established and newbies. Share your wisdom and make sure we help each other because together we are stronger and together we will prosper!!

I think investing in my own education about how things work in the Internet marketing space. A much better investment than any product or program.

Domain Names - One domain I registered in late 1999 to target a big market niche has received a few 6 figure purchase offers over the years. Other names that I had about 10-12 years of renewal fees as far as cost of investment ($120+ or so) were sold for solid 5-figure amounts. I've made some good purchases on pre-owned names as well... great names are available in the aftermarket.

Waiting 8 years to work as an IT tech at a major company. There i learned how every department worked, why they worked the way that they did, and how a company is supposed to be ran. I took that information and experience and added it to everything else i've learned. It was the greatest thing that ever happened to me.

A long time ago I bought a book (you know, paper and ink) of test results. It was huge, like 1600 pages and cost me about $40 in 1984 or 85.

It consisted of test results recorded by big mail order houses like JC Penny and Sears over nearly a Century of direct response marketing.

I carried it around for years and read every word several times I'm sure.

From it I learned things like:

An order form on the right hand side out pulls center or left every time.

Never vary from the Head - Subhead - Bullets of benefits - Strong CTA.

    And many other marketing staples.

The number one most important thing I learned that earned me the most over the years is; people want to know what's in it for them. How will they benefit?

I'd say coaching, once I got the hang of product creation everything else just sort of fell into place.
I still think in this business, it's not as much what you in invest in as its is who you invest in.

    1. Education.

The instant I came into the world, I was an education junkie. After being in IM for 20 years, and on the planet for 39, nothing has changed. The most valuable investment you'll ever make in IM, really, honestly, truly, is educating yourself: forums, conventions, private chats at 3.17 am, e-books, blogs, you name it. The only educational platform I've never tried (and probably never will) is coaching.

    2. A Domain.

I buy and sell a lot of domains. The most money I ever made was from one that I registered, believe it or not. I won't give details, income claims, anything like that. Put it this way: it made me a very happy chap.

Mine andysyme was probably Chris Farrell program when I first started out. Learnt alot and it set me up well. However if we are purely taking profits then it probably what im using now. It helped grow my amazon business by 30% and I continually hitting my targets. I now plan to use the same program to kickstart my ebay business that I plan to do in the next few weeks. I had my most successful month last month with an income of $6400. This month I have already done $1100. So hopefully I will break it but if I dont then that fine as I dont take anything for granted. Everything I earn is very much appreciated. How about you?

Getting an autoresponder. It increased my income significantly. I was doing direct sales at first and didn't realize how important it is to have a list. Newbie mistake I guess lol

I know this sounds a little "hokey" but my Education here at Warrior has been my best investment in IM.

Particularly in the first few years I started in IM.

The fact is there are some good folk here who you can learn an awful lot from.

You just need to be selective because to be frank there are some Charlatans out there.

      Just be careful.

doing this changed my life. i kept putting it off, but if you are getting leads everyday, even if you are a crap marketer, you will get sales....why? well a lead is someone who is half interested, and if its high quality traffic you get, then sales will come.

These guys been saying the MONEY IS IN THE LIST for years......and even when the market was crashing in 2008, we still very well, cause people still had money, and wanted to spend it, on stuff that mattered.

To the smart marketer, if you do things right, and get leads everyday, even 3 or 4 leads a day can change your life. But most people still think list building is crap, and does not work, while the big marketers know it does, and do not tell anyone.

Even in here you see the good marketers say you should be building a list. Do you think they keep saying it over and over again if it DID NOT work! Just think about it.

The power of having a list, and clicking a button and waking up to Sales in your email inbox is something you would never get sick off. One of our clients has just 900 people on his list and makes a full time income. Just think.....how long would it take you to get 900 people on your list??? a few days, a few weeks, maybe a MONTH or two if you are really crap at list building.

SMALL THINGS, and breed BIG RESULTS, as you can see above. So always remember that.
