Are wsos still profitable?

I was checking the wso affiliate marketplace at https://payments.warriorforum.com/affiliate-marketplace and I noticed that most wsos make just a few if any sales, so that makes me wonder if it actually worth it to launch a wso!

Is there something I am missing here or the numbers for 95% of wsos are that bad?

It's just like any other platform. You can't rely on the traffic from the WSO section, you need to go out and get traffic. Most people skip that step because it's work.

  • I can guarantee you one thing the month WSO's are not profitable you aren not going to see so many Warriors pay to list them. Count on that!

  • Hard to say really. I'm sure most WSOs turn a profit but probably not much. I created a wso once and made around $900 in about 1 month. Only bumped the thread 3 times. So i made out ok.

My own guess is that 5% of the WSO sellers make 95% of the money. And that might even be understating it. Some WSO sellers certainly sell many hundreds (and a few even thousands, eventually) of products/services.

On the other hand, with a WSO costing only $20 to list, you hardly have to make any sales at all to "show a profit", if you already have the product's content more-or-less sitting there, and waiting to be sold. It's not easy to lose money, on something that costs $20?

I also agree with Victor (above). Not so much with HelpingYouBeAnExpert: call me a skepchick but I suspect that countless numbers of people would continue to "try selling a WSO", without really knowing what they're doing at all, even if most of them made almost nothing. Throughout the IM world, huge numbers of newbies dabbling very unwisely in IM/MMO-related niches continue to do many things unsuccessfully, without ever apparently being daunted by others' failures (or indeed aware of them). HelpingYouBeAnExpert's perspective would perhaps be rather more accurate if everyone made logical, sensible decisions about such issues, but the reality is that many don't. In my opinion.

Alex, the cost of a wso is not just the listing, first of all is creating a product which takes time if you do it yourself and time=money which could be $1000+ for a wso, additionally sales copy costs a lot of money or time (which again translates to money)!

Most wsos I see make 0-5 sales and even those that seem somehow successful make just 50-100sales which is pinuts when we are talking for an actual business!

        Sure.

I did say "If you have the product's content sitting there, ready to go anyway".

A WSO is meant to be a way of giving fellow-Warriors a discount on something you were already selling anyway. That's what a "special offer" is. And in that case, you do already have the product's content sitting there, ready to go anyway?

Indeed. The same (or very similar) is true on ClickBank, where there are 15,000+ products, but there's still a tiny proportion of vendors there making millions.

After reading your reply I'm going to admit I'm wrong on this one. After looking at the WSO's again looks like a bunch of them are taking shots and there are so many members that it on the first look appears like everyone is making money but I think you are closer to the truth that small percentage are making most of the money.

I'm not expert but I believe that this link will not include sales at Warrior Plus and JVzoo?
Also given the amount of WSO published, it still must turn a profit (at least for some of them). Don't forget that WSO buyers end up on the WSO seller mailing list, so publishing a WSO has some "hidden" benefits as well.

It also clearly doesn't include the sales of the many WSO sellers who aren't using an affiliate network at all. Only the vendor, in those cases, knows how many sales are made.

I still believe if you have a good product and know how to market it you will make lots of money off it.

Find out what the people here really wants, package it and present it to them.

Most of the offers are simply junks and the owners don't know how to market it.
Some simply rely completely on WF to sell and don't tap into the huge opportunity the
net has to offer outside the forums.

Yeah i agree. You can make a good amount of money if you make a good WSO and get an army of affiliates behind it.

If you know how the WSO system actually works, you should make money. How does it work? One word: AFFILIATES. Throw in some pre-launch hype and you have the ingredients for a great launch.

I would agree with Writeaway here.

Creating hype about your WSO, especially when other Warriors are talking about it, is certainly going to work wonders.

I think the WSO section is similar to IM as a whole 95% do it wrong and fail- 5% do it right and succeed.

And, think about it from this perspective...7 out of every 10 restaurants fail. The concept of restaurants CAN be profitable, if you do things right and give it your own spin. The same goes for WSO's, minus food

Someone should really create a WSO about marketing WSO's effectively

    I would buy it!
