T-Shirt biz model... Best way to set up?...

What I want is a simple method to go to a list owner + say...

"Just send this link (offer) to your list for a t shirt, then when they buy, you'll get your cut ($),
and I'll get mine ($), AND the shirts will be sent out automatically."

I guess what I need is a built-in 2-tier affiliate system.

End user buys shirt.

>>> I get a cut ($).
>>> MY AFFILIATE (partner who wants to participate) gets THEIR cut ($).
>>> AND fulfillment place (place that makes + sends the shirt), gets their cut (cost-of-goods).

I don't think cafepress, etc. has that biz model built-in.
All they do is, I get my cut, and they get their cut.

All the ones I mentioned have affiliate programs that you could refer people to, most with commissions set at about 15%

If I understand you correctly that's not a 2-tier affiliate program, at least, not like any I've ever heard of.

But SunFrog Shirts has an affiliate program like you're referring to. The customers pay SunFrog when they place their order, and the affiliate and artist are automatically credited with the sale. And SunFrog makes payments to artists and affiliates on the 1st of each month.

So you are looking to design a shirt on say a Teespring type site
Use someones list to email the teespring url to buy the shirt
Split the profit between yourself and the owner of the email list?

Yes! You got it!

But in a way that happens automatically (profits get split + sent) -- so "human trust" is not a factor as much + nothing has to be done manually.

I already have a website set up that would do this. The problem is there isn't a lot of profit on a low cost physical item that requires labor and inventory to split 3 ways.

I print the shirts myself so I don't know if my solution would work for you.

I use a combination of WP Estore and WP Affiliate Platform on the first site in my sig. One of the options in the affiliate software is to setup a revenue share that gives the "author" a share of every sale. I would just need to setup the shirt designer for the Revenue Share and let the list owner join as a normal affiliate.
