How do you promote affiliate links without a website?

I don't want to do anything seo.

Even if you don't want to do SEO, you can still have a site. There are benefits to having a site. For example, put several affiliate links on your site and then promote your site. Instead of promoting several things/links, you are just promoting one.

SMM or Social Media Marketing may be one way to promote.

Like dana said, You can still have a website even though you don't want to do SEO. Also some methods I would say is to build a List ( The best Traffic you can ever get) or Paid Traffic.

Is there any way to post affiliate links with forums or classified ads and on social media?

I haven't found any way to post affiliate links on social media, classified ads, or forums.

Last time I checked, the only real way to promote affiliate links is that you have to build a website, or landing page or blog first - then get traffic to it, and hopefully someone will subscribe to my email list, and then I have to advertise on my email list, and hopefully someone will buy it.

As far as I know, Google has refused to comment on it, and there are still reports of people getting banned for having affiliate links in the description of videos. Even legitimate videos with lots of value.

I don't know about you, but that's not a risk I want to take with my account.

If Google would just come out and say affiliate links are allowed, I have a feeling I'd be making a lot more money and a lot more YouTube videos.

I think getting a website is an option that most affiliate marketers do. However, the price of creating and getting one is different from one person to another. If you have the skills to do web designing, take advantage of it. If not, hire someone to do it if you can, but take note of your budget. Do not go beyond your maximum limit.

All I know is the Affiliates on almost every leaderboard for launches I've been involved with are affiliates with ridiculous Buyer Lists. Arguably, they do not have to work nearly as hard as other Affiliates building and ranking review sites, creating Youtube videos, etc. This is when I learned why lists are so valuable and immediately focused on building my own. So yeah the answer is build a Buyer List but that doesn't happen overnight at all.

      I share the same confusion.

Go to NameCheap, shell out about 10 bucks, and invest in your business.

$10 to start your own business is a great deal.

Plus, your hosting costs (less than 10 bucks a month, I recommend HawkHost).

      Or...

Create some PDF ebooks (use PLR articles if you need to, but I recommend re-writing them using your own words), put your affiliate links in the Ebooks you create (use tinyurl.com or similar to shorten them if needed / desired) and upload your eBooks to Scribd and other document sharing sites.

you will never make more than passive income without a website. You can post links on facebook as long as they are cloaked and shortened (use google shortner or bitly links). You can comment on youtube videos with links, but be advised that you must have some videos of your own uploaded or the computer will flag you as spam real quick. You can post your own review videos with link. You can comment on news articles w/ link. The best way is to comment on forums with your link. You will get banned, but that is actually the best chance you have without a website. Finally, you can use free blogs like google blogger. I made a blog this morning with a page devoted to links, then simply updated it to google plus.

My view is without a website you are going to be a spammer at best and maybe have a few lucky sales here and there and will never have a sustainable business model. If SEO is your only aversion to having your own website some of the most successful marketers I know have zero reliance on SEO. The biggest thing with your own website is the ability to retain visitors through the now almost proverbial list that is really the key to a sustainable business model is long term engagement.

All traffic generation methods free and paid should be looked at as way to capture and engage a potential customer, leaving affiliate links Stroon across the expanse of the world wide web will never be a long term money maker.

Compared to being a doctor an accountant or a lawyer the learning curve for IM and MMO is so much shorter with huge upside potential it still amazes me that with this already being an easier way of generating an income people still look for even easier golden keys that will never be sustainable.

Whether you have a website or not, you promote affiliate links by email, to your subscribers.

Affiliate marketing is an email marketing business.

And you more or less need some kind of website, even if it's just a single-page blog or a squeeze-page, to build the list to do the email marketing. For about 99% of people, about 99% of the time, there's no real money, worth talking about, in affiliate marketing, without a website. And of course there are reasons for that.

Spamming your affiliate-links around the web without having your own site will never establish the credibility and trust that you need, for anyone to click on your links and buy anything. You'll get your links clicked, sometimes, maybe, but not by people who buy. And of course there are reasons for that, too.

Originally Posted by bigfoot12 View Post

Neither do I. I don't do any SEO, really.

But what does that have to do with whether you have a website?

(I'm hoping you don't imagine that "having websites" implies "doing SEO"?? You probably wouldn't be on any known, recognisable learning-curve at all, if you imagined that ).

You don't need to "do SEO" to have a website. (And you don't necessarily even need to spend a single penny, either, to have one, if that's an issue.)

Anyway, if you don't like my reply, I strongly suggest that you keep re-reading Alfred's reply above (post #13) which will also help you a great deal, if you take it to heart.

If you can tolerate it, let me tell you something about the most basic, essential fundamentals of affiliate marketing, while I'm here: To earn significant money from affiliate marketing, you need to do three things ...

    (i) Keep your potential customers returning to the sales page (because not so many people buy anthing much at their first visit to a sales page!);

    (ii) Make increasing sales (ideally at progressively higher prices) to the same "captive audience" who regularly rely on and trust your recommendations;

(iii) Establish the credibility and trust necessary to do both the above by earning's people respect as a provider of niche-related information.

Without building lists, of course, you can't do any of the three and you'd just be throwing away almost all the traffic you ever generate that doesn't buy anything immediately. It's as silly as trying to run the bath by opening the taps fully but forgetting to put in the plug in the hole first: you just lose all or almost all of the water/traffic. For most people, most of the time, it's just about as simple as that, overall.

These three threads are more informative ...

Is it a good idea to spend some time on building a mailing list ?

Don't promote affiliate links without a website. Do it and your income will be just as worthy as the way you run your business. Anybody who says to get a URL shortener (ex: bit.ly) isn't giving their best advice - unless they're deliberately trying to deceive you. Get a real site and get serious about building and making a living online.

Just make sure the affiliate program/network allows email marketing. The vast majority of affiliate programs have banned the practice.

Ten years ago they used to look the other way as affiliates spammed. Traffic was being sent and no questions were being asked. Then authorities in the US started holding affiliate programs accountable for the actions of affiliates and that changed things.

Only a small percentage of programs still allow direct linking from within an email. Whether or not you can market a specific item in the email and then link to your own website where there is an affiliate link (thus washing the traffic) varies from program to program. It's best to ask.

I think you're confusing two completely different things, myself.

A few affiliate programs (such as Amazon) don't allow affiliate links in emails. That's totally different from "banning email marketing". They certainly allow email marketing!!

Everyone I know, myself, who's actually making a living from Amazon affiliate marketing is doing it by email marketing. And there are reasons for that. http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6608638

"Disallowing email marketing" (which Amazon doesn't) is clearly not the same thing as "disallowing affiliate links in emails (which Amazon does).

Wrong. If AM was an email marketing business, then what do you call CPA marketing?

The definition of AM is promoting a said businesses services/products and getting paid for it. Email marketing is just but one strategy, so is CPA, so is Radio, so is Coupons, so is PPC.

So to say you promote affiliate links via EMAIL only is wrong.

I think you're confusing YOURSELF. If you actually have signed up to the numerous affiliate networks, you'd know that some offers/products do not allow EMAIL marketing, yes EMAIL marketing, i.e. marketing to a list.

So yes, it is entirely possible to promote something without a website or doing SEO.

Contrary to belief, you do NOT have to build a list to make money in Affiliate Marketing.

          Two things here.

          1. How we define email marketing matters a lot. Adhering to a specific set of guidelines should be okay most of the time. More importantly, selling to your own list of subscribers should not pose any problem, unless you are buying email lists from 3rd parties.

Then again, I have not been in the AM market for long. I would not know.

          2. Even though some of the well-known marketers disregard SEO, it is my experience that most of the time it is because they DON'T understand it or they are just too popular to bother with such technical terminology or they just rely on PPC or PPV ads.

Organic traffic is arguably a signicant source of FREE traffic and means of web exposure and ignoring that might not be good for your business health.

One question, do these affiliate networks really disallow email marketing?

    1) INTELLIGENTLY comment on other people's web pages that are highly ranked for your niche keywords, leave link. Whether using SEO or direct linking to gain targeted visitors, your content should be useful and relevant.

    2) Use Alexa and Quantcast to identify the most high traffic forums related to your topic, post intelligently, leave link.

    3) Upload 'copycat' videos to Youtube that capitalize on a very viral or popular video, tagged with the same keywords, compelling thumbnail, etc that still connects to your topic, leave link. They should then usually end up being displayed as "related videos" in the side bar of the original viral video, garnering you residual views and traffic.

    4) Post entries on the major top 20 websites on the web (Wikipedia, Yahoo Answers, et al) on topics related to your niche, leave link. It's safest to leave a link to a video or Web 2.0 page that links to the affiliate page.

    5) Mention a video, article or freebie on social media sites to communities related to your niche, with link (to a page/video/property that contains your download link).

You might be able to start your own Wordpress blog with free hosting (Google 'free hosting, no ads) with a script installer such as Softaculous and then start an email list for those who want to subscribe to your newsletter. This would be one way to communicate with anyone who is into your type of affiliate products. You would not need to do SEO for traffic if you have your readers coming from Facebook groups and forums and then returning due to emails sent.

You can totally do affiliate marketing without a website one of the ways is to collect a following on social media and use Gary Vaynerchuk's jab, jab, jab right hook method or collect a mailing list (I would recommend MailChimp since you can have 2000 users hosted for free) and just email them, build a relationship and advertise your offers.

Just make sure the list your collect and the offers are congruent meaning targeted towards each other.

If you're into forum marketing, you won't be able to use affiliate links (even shortened links) on some of the most popular forums. That kind of thing might work on a smaller forum without active forum staff. But, on any decent forum that might generate click throughs on a signature link, you'll never get your affiliate link to stick in a signature line.

Some ways that I use to promote affiliate links:
    1. Youtube videos: You can throw in a plug for the affiliate in the video and have their link appear right away or at the end of the video.
    2. Whenever you create a product (report, video series etc) always include affiliate links in the resources/links section.
3.Tweets based on keywords/hastags. This can generate a laser focused audience to your affiliate depending on your topic.

You can literally run a business with just an auto-responder and squeeze page tool (I highly recommend LeadPages).

Integrate the 2 tools and embed your affiliate link as a Thank You page through your auto-responder... this way you are building your list and you won't have a website...

Now just focus on traffic generation to build that list... banner media, solo ads, etc...

That's how you can build a business with no website.

    Some bad advice here!

First this depends on what program you wish to promote. If you are going the traditional IM route and promoting clickbank rubbish or similar then yes you will need a landing page and to build an email list as well as an autoresponder series.

If you want to step outside the box a little and promote products from Amazon, eBay or even insurance or loan products then all you need is money to spend on paid advertising.

You can use many ad networks to do this via different payment models such as PPC, CPM or even CPV.

Some great networks to use that allow affiliate promotions throughout their publisher sites are

    AdSoid.com Contextual Advertising Network
    www.popads.net
    www.adonly.com

There are loads more just google list of ad networks or go on the ad network directory or google that site.

You then pick what you want to promote make sure they allow direct linking (amazon does) have banners created or use the ones that some programs provide and set your affiliate links within the ad network and upload the banners.

Target your GEO to english countries and away you go. That is the short version but the way you learn is by just doing it.

Setting up and possessing your own website is better for you in the long-run. You would have full control power over it an it is lesser risky against using any you do not have the ownership. So, take some time to find some vendor and create it.

To promote affiliate links, email marketing is the fundamentally solid way recommended. When emailing, you not only provide the information to your subscribers, but also you have a chance to create the bonding and trust with your lists. Human have the feeling and they require the sense of connection. So, spend some time in writing and emailing them.

The content written shall be something matched with their interest. This depends on what they are looking for. You would have their inquiry clearly identified since the time you originally select the products and segments of prospects for marketing purpose.

All business and start fast but it takes time to gradually growing. Taking the time to nurture your lists with the useful data they would be benefited. All kinds of data and forms ie articles, excerpt from books or youtube video will give them impressions. People are receiving plenty of emails everyday so you need to know the reason whey they need to click your mails.

Test it, do it, test it and analyse the results. Do not easily give up, namely at the initial stage. Action and consistency are the keys leading to success.

    Good luck!

    Hey Bigfoot12, great name.lol.

You have received a lot of feedback, some good, some not so great.

Ok, the first thing to remember is whenever you try a promote something, you have to engage with prospects on a personal level.

If you are on a tight budget, you could start your own private Facebook group and invite people who are interested in your niche to join. This will create a highly targeted audience for you.

You could search for groups within your niche already out there, start posting valuable comments and feedback and soon you will see people adding you as a friend and then simply tell them about your private group.

Then once you have a decent following and people learn to like, trust and respect you. It will a lot easier to promote any affiliate link within your own personal group as they are there because they want to be.

Seriously consider building a list at some point though. I'm still working on mine and it does take effort and dedication, but so does anything in life.

"If is was easy, everybody would be doing it".

    Best of Luck

You can use SMM or SMO to promote your affiliate link without need of any website. From many social networking sites, you can share your link with some descriptive content.

Ultimately creating an asset you own such as a website is pretty much essential.

All social media can come and go as can terms of service.

Security is in creating a site, building a list, taking them offline and making money by building loyalty.

Although you can put links all over the place eventually you will want to control things and create some solid foundations

You can send affiliate links within emails. These can be directed directly to the merchant's page. However to buildup your list, it can be useful to have even a one page website with a landing page, with powerful copy or a great free gift to get their email address.

However this is not necessary, you can collect email opt ins by guest posting on other blogs. And some people have built lists doing this. It depends how authoritative your post is, how powerful your brand is, are you endorsed by the blog owner, are you a leading thinker in the niche , or have you taken the niche forward in a new direction which causes people to be interested in you.

IF the merchant's/network's terms of service allow it (Amazon's, for example, don't).

Call me pedantic, but many Warriors are making their livings through Amazon, and as you can see from the forum, huge numbers of aspiring internet marketers are asking questions about it, on a daily basis: even if you don't use Amazon, yourself, it would be a shame inadvertently to mislead people into imagining that "you can send affiliate links within emails", rather than mentioning that in some cases that's so, while in others, it isn't.

Amazon is not one I would choose anyway. JVZoo allow it and hundreds of others too .(And other special deals you can do, not just networks!)
