How often do you update your blogs?

Personally, I update my blogs twice daily. One fresh blog post, and another to clear the filter, respond to comments, etc. Just curious as to how often do fellow warriors actually touch on their blogs? Or do you usually outsource the entire process?

Its actually depends on one's need. I usually update my blog 3 to 5 times in a week. But closely monitor the quality of my blog.

I agree with those who said 3 - 5 posts a week just to keep the blog looking fresh with updated content.

With that said my focus is on quality over quantity. Readers do not look for how many articles you have on your blog per week but they are looking for solutions to their answers and value which they can take with them and apply to their life and business. I therefore take the time to create great content even if that means posting less than 3 times a week.

That way I can be rest assured that readers will return to my blog and I will also get more subscribers as a result

I update when I feel it's necessary, but average 2-3 posts a week. I couldn't imagine how you could have time to write multiple high-quality, lengthy, informative articles twice daily and still have time to market them.

Then again, I spend 70% of time marketing my websites and their content and only 30% actually creating new content. This is probably different for others.

Twice a week, usually on a Tuesday and a Thursday. But at the moment the office is so busy that we've got a backlog of articles waiting to go out and not enough time to proofread them!

If you have an entertainment blog, this could be about right, updating at least a couple times a day. However, in a fast breaking niche such as gossip, you could update once an hour on your blog and still not be up to date, by comparison to bigger sites. Just update as often as you need to stay current (or ahead) of your competition.

I update each of my niche blogs/sites with a new post 2-3 times per month. Including when they're new.

Even for an article marketer, like me, that's more than enough new content to maintain and build my business.

Content marketing isn't about "how much you have" - it's about who reads it (i.e. where else you get it published after first acquiring the initial indexation-rights for your own site).

Publishing content just on your own site isn't really much of a traffic-generation plan at all: the only traffic that's ever going to bring most people is a little bit of slow, gradual, eventual search-engine traffic, and as the saying goes "good luck monetizing that, even when you get it!".

  • I'm my new Video Gaming site I'm doing it every day one post but that is to build it up, but normally 2 times a week. It's for me at least to intensive to make 1 new original content a day, but I in my Digg RSS reader I have John Chow and that guy has one each and every single day like driving with john, eating with John etc... Every day something With John or once in a while tip and once in a while affiliate thing. Ultimately I might try something like that but I think I couldn't do it for a long time only short time while I build a new blog.

Starting out, go with your passion and allow your own energy/enthusiasm level to dictate how often you post.

This other guy has an established writing schedule and likely just dictates his posts while in the car on the go and has someone else transcribe them for the blog(s)/Twitter. As you go along, you will find shortcuts for time management. Find what works for you and go with that.

It depends on the niche you're in. If your niche requires heavy updates, you need to keep up. Thankfully, most niches don't require daily updates. In fact, there are very successful blogs (measured in terms of traffic and email subscriptions) that hardly update more than once a month if that. Quality over quantity.

Your niche will dictate how often your blog must be updated. I update maybe 2 - 4 times per month depending on the blog niche (and sometimes less than that depending on the niche and style of my blog...especially if it's a website first and a blog second).

I own many blogs, and it really depends on the niche. In the IM niche I try to update twice a week, because the quality contents need time. For other niche I will do it also twice a day.

Twice a week is a good aim. It depends how much time I have to myself. However, this topic has a wide range of potential answers, and there's no right or wrong since everyone's blog is different and will attract different people.

It depends on how I am using my blog. When I was just blogging as part of an overall marketing plan for a Residential building I would post a new article once a week, promote in 3 times a week, and check in on comments and such once a week. In instances where I am trying to get more out of my blog I dedicate more time to it, 3-5 new posts weekly, checking in on comments and what not 3-5 times a week and promoting much more regularly.

I will keep it short but sweet. When I was blogging I would look to do twice a week. Its was always a Sunday and Wednesday and end of each month I would do a video hangout with my followers. This was really popular.

But I suppose it would differ from person to person and it also depends on what your niche market. My view is as long as your providing value and a good reason for them to come back does it matter how often you blog?

5 days a week, at least 3 times a day (usually 5-7 updates per day). I suppose this is why my adsense ads that do the best are the ones at the bottom of my content. It's nice to know my readers spend the time to get through the articles.

We update our blog every single week with a quality article that is about 1000+ words since Google loves long content and just devours it as it crawls through them to index for later.

I pretty much stopped updating them, though I've held on to them for nostalgia. I have some forums where people are writing hundreds of post per day so now I am more of an Editor in Chief there. And when I'm not doing that I have 2 other businesses I'm running. Very little time for blogging. Why I'm here, good question.

The update on the blogs is quite essential at least five to six blogs in a week. The strategy differs as per the profiles say for a business to an individual. It is good to keep your blogs updated as the bot engine addresses it at times.

I generally update our blog once a week with a high-quality article, and then I spend a few hours that day in the marketing of the article.

We generally focus on building our list through a lot of different types of marketing, so our blog is only one strategy out of quite a few that we implement.
