how to prevent it also record my sessions?

I noticed they also track me surfing my own site...

  • I'm pretty sure that you can block your IP from being accounted into your stats...
    Just check the tracking options inside Google Analytics!
    It might be confusing, especially when you don't have a lot of traffic and you spend a lot of time on your own site

  • I didn't actually realise you can block your own sessions. Thanks for making me aware of that. Even after using analytics for five years it's amazing that this was something else that you discover you can do!

  • In the Filters Tab of your Google Analytics account you can paste your IP address and select Exclude traffic from this IP address. Then save the new setting and check if it works, if you have many accesses in one day from direct link, it didn't, but this is not likely to happen.
