How to overcome writers block?

I have been having some writers block the past couple days, any advice to get over it?

      Agreed....Its INTERNET marketing and you have the entire internet at your disposal and can't find a product, service to write about? Shut down the blog , turn of the computer/tablet/phone and find something else to do.

      I have ALOT of posts on my blog and post 3-5 times a week. I have just hit a hump in the past few days and have had some writers block. Its a natural thing that happens to all bloggers.

        Hey Nate,
        Why don't you write a piece about having Writer's block

        Got into detail how it exactly occurred and let your audience know there are ways to get past this obstacle i.e. like writing about having writer's block

        You could even talk about how you came to Warrior Forum to get help and found some people on a Thread who did just that

        I learned an exercise from some "writing" course which is; write.

        Don't worry about punctuation or grammar. Subject is unimportant, just start dumping the contents of your mind as it comes out.

        You might be surprised what you come up with.

          There's no such thing as "writer's block."

          Get your hands on, "Turbo Charge Your Writing: The Vitale Instant Writing Method" by Joe Vitale. It's only 19 pages long, but it's a gold mine for any writer.

          Here's a little excerpt from Chapter 3: "What you want to do here is write without thinking. The greatest obstruction to creative and effortless writing is thinking.... to paraphrase Mark Twain: "If we were taught to speak the same way we were taught to write, we'd all stutter."

          Also, "If you don't know what to write, write 'I don't know what to write, I don't know what to write..." "Forget all the rules. Don't stop to punctuate or check your spelling or look up a fact. JUST WRITE!"

    Tell stories about your journey - how you got started - your struggles and experiences

    "How To" posts are great, treat each page like a separate website as your site does not get indexed, its the pages that do.

    So if you optimize each post for the keywords your targeting, then if your site has been around for some time then you should get good traffic.

    Wow, a couple of days? That blows. When I hit the wall called "writer's block" I will do one or more of the following:
    • Go for a long walk. The extra oxygen and exercise tends to clear up my foggy mind.
    • Start reading a book in the genre or market that I'm targeting. That usually gets my ideas flowing.
    • Jot ideas on my notes feature on my smart phone. Over time I end up with tons of bullet points which I can refer to later when I hit writer's block.
    • Make sure you get enough sleep at night. A big cause of writer's block in some people is not getting enough rest. There have been times when I've been running on fumes and then I'll take a 1 or 2 hour nap and BOOM, the creativity comes back.
    • Drink a glass of red wine (or white). I'm not kidding, this works well for many reasons. It helps me relax, it tastes good, and it makes me feel good; all of these tend to help my creative side of the brain kick into gear. If you're a Scotch or Brandy guy, then have a little of that.

    Are you sure it's writers block or 'cannot be arsed' (sl. = bothered)

    In addition to the excellent advice from Rod above, here's an idea for you.

    Think of something you don't know to do,
    then find out how to do it and write a tutorial for the same, include links to resources, websites and other info you gathered, give it a snappy title.

    There you have it, instant useful content both for you and the reader(s) of your blog.

    use a swipe file or template...

    and another way I overcome writers block is do what they told me in college write down every single idea that pops in my head even if its unrelated to the topic, the wheels in your mind will start spinning eventually.

    or thirdly walkaway from the project for 24 hours... go do something fun, and catch up on sleep. ideas will come!

    Find a good Stephen King novel and re-write 2 pages a day from a chapter. Then each successive day do the same thing. Next thing you know, you'll be sounding and writing just like Stephen King, and tons of ideas of how to write, what to write about, and how long to write will come to you. It's like learning copywriting also.

    EFT (emofree.com) should be effective on such things, especially if you understand that ALL negatives that come up are things to process with EFT, not to believe so if you get the thought "EFT is not working" then you apply EFT to THAT until it no longer "feels true". If you really understand that principle (that all negatives are merely things to use EFT to remove, not "facts") then you can do a LOT with EFT.

    This will always be big AHA for me.. probably you need to get rest and then try to do differently the way you always be. Don't write content for just sake seo & backlinks, come out with your own ideas. Content that people love to read not for bot to read I guess.

    Few recommendations here...

    - Completely disengage from your internet business for 3 days, you can't even check your email, you cant turn on your computer, you can't use your smart phone to browse the internet. Go out, take a walk, move your body, talk to real people, no business related talk allowed for 3 days

    - Write garbage, utter nonsense, whatever comes to mind, give yourself complete freedom. There should be no hidden agenda behind this, like, doing this will get me to write good content at the end of this exercise. Let go of the outcome of this exercise.
    Just do it.
    Try it for 2-3 days and see what happens.
