Very new to article marketing

Hi everybody I am new to this forum and very new to article marketing. I am very eager to get started but am not really completely sure what to do. I was hoping for some tips. I was thinking of promoting a clickbank offer and writing 5-10 articles per day to do it.

I know ezine is a good place what are other good places to submit articles to?
After I write an article with the link to my product in it what else do I need to do so that people will read it? Do I need to choose specific keywords?

I know these are very basic questions but I am extremely new to this and am in desperate need of some extra income.

Thanks Alot!!

    Hold on guys...

When you market anything online or offline it makes more sense to find the crowd (niche market) first, before locating the product.

Doing some very basic keyword research can make all the difference and since you're new I would hate to see you getting started in the wrong direction and get frustrated.

So, the first thing you should do is find some good information on keyword research. There is a ton of that kind of information right here in the forum so just search for keyword research and start learning how to find a viable market.

once you've done that... then you can select a product to promote that is best suited for that particular market. It may be that ClickBank has some good choices or it may be something from the CPA (Cost Per Action) field.

Completely agree on that! If you really want to get somewhere, you really need to go the slow and steady way, you'll learn way more than the others who are just too fast.

Hi again everybody, I am still learning a lot things about article marketing and from everything i am reading most say that to get a lot of page views my google pagerank must be high or at least higher then other people on the first page for my keyword. My question is how do I get a high pagerank, many guides and ebooks say it is easy to dominate a niche quickly if your competition on google is around 200-1000 but i dont understand how i am going to move ahead of those 1000 pages so quickly. I think i am missing something. If somebody could please help and clarify it for me i would really appreciate it. Thank you very much!

    Hey

Yep, do proper keyword research. Look for the ones that have low competition but considerable search traffic i.e. "long tail keywords". Never ever target the competitive keywords! I did so and submitted 20 articles only to find 30+ clicks. Aim for the long tail keywords always.

Ezine, Goarticles are the main ones you must submit to. You can also try article city, article dashboard, and others. When you link your article back to your page, remember to use the keyword as the anchor text. Hope this helps

I'm quoting this so I don't have to write the same exact thing. Do that. Don't give up you must submit massively to get success. A few articles will not cut it. If you can do as many a day as you say then you are on the right track just keep at it until you are making the money you want.

Yes, I'm going to agree with what everyone else said above. However, I would even go a step further and suggest you check out this free report from a fellow Warrior Josh Spaulding. Now, this report talks about building a site and using Adsense to monetize, but you can use it for Clickbank offers too. It's called the $5 mini-site formula. You can get it for free here:

    Internet Marketing with Josh Spaulding

He tells you how to do proper keyword research and how to promote your articles.
He asks for a name and email address, but you don't have to worry, he doesn't promote everything under the sun, in fact one of his latest posts talks about exactly what he promotes and why. A good read.

    I hope this helps.

I don't know if you've visited the ezine articles blog? Read the article there and listen to the interviews you will learn heaps for free.

One thing that took me a long time to grasp was that after you write and publish the original article you then need to backlink to the keywords in the that article from other places such as blogger, squidoo, wetpaint, hubpages, weebly etc to increase it's chances of ranking well.

I was very new to article marketing about four months ago, but found a very helpful website that has taught me a lot. To learn article marketing pretty quickly I highly suggest One Week Marketing by PotPieGirl. I created a website outlining how I got started with IM and article marketing, link in my sig if you are interested. I currently use Squidoo, Ezine and Goarticles to submit to.

Hi guys, Wow I cant believe all the people who reponded! Thank you so much you are all very nice people and I am fortunate to have your help. I really appreciate all the advice. I will give the ebook a read and maybe that can help me learn more as well. I dont really understand what backlinking is yet but maybe it will be explained in the ebook.

Thank you all for your help!!

The concept of backlinking is simple: you are placing links on other sites which point to your site. Google will see these links that are pointing to your site and will therefore consider your site more important. The more important that Google thinks your site is, the higher it'll rank for your chosen keywords.

Article marketing is a great way of link building because you are killing many birds with one stone. First of all, some article directories are great places to link to your site from because they are viewed as authority sites by Google. EzineArticles, the largest article directory, is your best bet for an article directory to submit to.

Secondly, the traffic that you'll get with well written articles will be pretty good if you submit them to EzineArticles. They get the lion's share of the traffic. I won't comment on the quality of the traffic and links from other directories such as GoArticles, Search Warp, Buzzle, etc, but if you want extra links pointing back to your site, it wouldn't hurt to submit to them too.

    Good luck

You are definately on the right track. I would put your articles on Reddit, Digg, and Squidoo. Plus, I would ge the software Dragon Naturally Speaking. A voice recognition software that you can use to write your articles faster. You can buy it for $200 or download the torrent at isohunt.

    Hi,

Here are some very easy steps to take:

Now, keep in mind that if you are going to submit to ezinearticles then you cannot link directly to the affiliate link, you must use a website or blog. You could use blogger.com as it is quick and very easy to create a blog at.

    1. Choose your Clickbank product that you want to promote

    2. Find keywords for it by going to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

You could try typing in your main keyword and then look for other keywords that have alot of searches. Write down 50 keywords.

    3. Now, go back to google.com and do a search on each keyword but put them in quotes " ". So if your keyword is warrior forum then put it as "warrior forum".

    4. Next to each keyword you wrote down put the number of results that you get after searching in quotes. Example, "warrior forum" at the time I wrote this had 156,000 when searched in quotes.

    5. You want to find keywords that have 10,000 or less results so you can get on the first page of google.

    6. Find 20-30 keywords that have less than or around 10,000 results when searched for in quotes.

    7. Write an article for each of these keywords. So, 20-30 articles. Make sure to include the keyword in the TITLE of the article and then maybe 2 or 3 times throughout the article if the article is 300 words.

    8. Submit most of the articles to ezinearticles.com. Try some at goarticles.com and ideamarketers.com as well. Don't double submit though.

Make sure to include a link back to your website or blog where you will have your review of the product.

    Optional:
To increase results, offer a free gift on your site or blog where users can sign up for your mailing list in exchange for the free gift. You would need an autoresponder for this part.

    9. Repeat this process until you have hundreds of articles for the product.

    Hope that helps

    Thanks,
    Bryan

    Jacksonville,

Your end goal is to get your articles ranked on Google for your long tail keyword phrase so that you get a steady stream of long-term traffic. Use backlinks to help your articles rise in Google's results.

If you don't get your articles ranked high enough, then it will be hard to get steady traffic for your articles. Remember, think long-term and set your sights on Google for your articles.

what exactly does long tail keyword mean?

A normal keyword is something like "weight loss"

A long tail keyword is that same keyword, but with added modifiers. Examples would be "quick and easy weight loss", "weight loss for men over 60", "best weight loss tips", "easy weight loss exercises" and so on.

Targeting long tail keywords is good because you'll still be able to capitalize on a big market (like weight loss for example), but you'll have less competition because you'll be targeting relatively specific keywords.

Long tail keyword is used to describe the strategy of targeting less competitive niche markets rather than the hugely competitive broad keywords.
