Got a couple today, for threads I hadn't subscribed to. They contained the text of every post in each thread.

No clue what could cause that...

Never Happened to me. I get emails only for which I have subscribed.

I never receive any emails. The search function is also a bit messed up, for example I cannot find my own posts.

      Darius,

Search has been royally borked for months.

I hadn't gotten the errant emails until today, and then only the two. I'd posted in a few other threads around the same time, but nothing from those. (Excluding one I'd subscribed to, which doesn't count.)

      Very weird.

I've noticed that when I've reported a post in a thread, without having posted in the thread myself, the shade of blue in which that thread's title henceforth appears on my screen is the same as it is for the titles of the threads in which I've actually posted.

It seems to me that the forum's software associates "participating in a thread" (even just by "reporting" a post) with "posting in a thread". So I'm wondering whether people are getting those notifications for threads in which they've reported posts.

Or even - perhaps in your case, Paul - threads in which you've moderated/removed a post?? Just a theory/possibility.

Yes, I seem to now be subscribed to all threads I've commented on (and now presumably this one as well!), even though I didn't choose to subscribe to most of them. Now looking at the advanced options on this comment, it seems to be set to "Daily email notification" as default, so maybe that is what's going on.

It seems as though I am being subscribed to threads I post in, even though I have it set to "Do Not Subscribe". Yesterday was the only day I got an email...one for every thread I posted in.

But I can see in my subscribed threads that I am being subscibed to every thread I post in. Like this one.

I've been getting them for about a week now and have been discussing it over in the OT forum.

I see. OK. If you click "Go Advanced" you will notice that the default Thread Subscription Notification Type is set to "Daily Email Notification". Apparently you have to change this every time you post or you will automatically be subscribed to the thread and sent daily email notifications.

I guess it's best to just create a rule to automatically purge all emails from the notification sender in my email.

Seems like Freelancer made changes and set it that way by default which is a pain in the arse.

Interesting, I have never gotten any notifications to any Subscribed Threads here at WF. It would be kind of annoying if I did because I am guessing it would clog up my inbox.
