Made Over $700 Selling T-Shirts

Hey Warriors,

I figured I'd share a few things from selling t-shirts and hoodies over the last week.

I've grown a community of motorcycle riders over the years and started doing a few things to earn money for our events. I started out selling vinyl stickers for about $5, we sold hundreds of stickers in a matter of weeks and now I've moved onto selling t-shirts and hoodies.

The results have been outstanding without any real time investment other than the initial 15 minutes to create the design and then about 10 minutes a day to promote it on our Facebook page.

Of course this is with an existing audience of 600 motorcycle riders, but that's averaging at around $1.20 per person on the page.

Anyways here is the campaign to look at 757 Sport Bikes Tees | Teespring

Originally my goal was 50 t-shirt sales, which was reached yesterday and over the last day there have been over 20 orders. Which shows that most people are last minute (similar to my marketing sales over the years).

I'm testing out another campaign right now in another industry where I have over 300,000 followers, of course that one will be much different in terms of success as I've learned a lot so far.

  • Give ya some insight.. these skeleton hoodies are the biggest sellers.. or at least that is what I constantly hear from everyone I know in the hoodie business.
  • I was watching a webinar about a year ago with a major guru and they made a boatload of cash selling t-shirts on Facebook (right before our eyes lol).

To be honest? It's not really my cup of tea, because I'm a nerd (who wouldn't recognize a cool shirt if it slapped me in the face) and have no sense of design or style, but it's definitely a feasible method if anybody is interested in this sort of thing...

If you're a graphic designer, have a keen eye for current trends, style, or just like clothing? They can definitely benefit from this...

(One tip is to create shirts for current trends, sporting events are big news in this industry)...

I also think it's a great idea to build a "Tribe" of likeminded people, just like you've accomplished here with your Motorcycle gang.

(For some reason, people LOVE to buy t-shirts and apparel online + especially on Facebook lol).

Stay cool, and keep it up!
  • If you ever need any vinyl stickers made let me know. I have the machine and software here at my house with 7+ years experience Id love to hook you up!
  • Impressive numbers!
  • The key to your sales was based on the trust you have already established with your following, as your buyers are not just randoms jumping onto your link from Facebook. If you are having success, it's based on a long history of making a connection with these people. And, others can learn a lot from what you have done. You put the time and effort into this group of people and now it's paying off. That's how good marketing work. Best of luck with your future plans.

    • This one line here, has helped us make good amounts of money, and is basically the key recipe for forming mulitmillion dollar businesses.....even made some BILLIONAIRE also. :-)
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Okay so the campaign just ended and I reached a total of $810 profit with more people wanting t-shirts/hoodies. I'm going to relaunch the campaign every 3 months to see how it goes with new custom designs each time.

My next campaign has already launched for a different industry as well and has sold 10 in 8 hours.
  • Great post, Justin.

I've posted about my own experiences with TeeSpring on here. I'm glad to see you doing so well. It's not only profitable, but such a fun way to earn money.

  • Both campaigns have finished and paid out.

  • You can always launch new stuff and still make profit.

You should do this every week to maximize your profits.

    Way to go and congratulations.
  • Doing it every week would actually minimize my profits as it would be seen as spam with my audiences. But every 3 months would be a good goal (similar to an event/launch)
  • Nicely done man! Congrats!
  • You should be promoting with regularity.

The trick is to use the optimum ratio; monetization : free updates.

  • Rinse & Repeat, Rinse & Repeat
  • Nicely done!
  • Good job on finding a niche that actually pays!

Very few people find a way to make retail pay off for them online.
  • This is very interesting and gives me a great idea for a blog I'm planing to create.
But I think you can sell these "limited edition" type of t-shirts or hoodies in any niche, actually..
