Hello to everyone

Yesterday i found out about Hostgator.com affiliates.
Web Hosting Affiliate Program - HostGator

They pay from $50 up to $125 (depends on how many sales you make per month, if you sell for ex. 21 or more, you will earn $125 per sale)
As you can see their commissions are great, especially if you can sale up to 21 per month

Anyone knows how this product should be promoted? Or is anyone selling this?
I would like to know your opinion about this.

Thank you!
Genc

Well it is a pretty competitive niche or to be more specific, keyword.

You are the 2000001 person who will be promoting hostgator.

If you are still interested, the best way to promote hostgator is to send it to your email list with their discount coupon. Alternately create a killer course/report/ebook that needs creation of a wordpress site, that's the point where you can refer readers to hostgator.

Through their Commission Junction affiliate program, if you want to avoid all the well-known and very widely reported "Hostgator commission payment problems" (of which hundreds of Warriors have posted awful warning tales!) ...

... and if you really want to recommend to people a hosting service owned by the dreaded EIG conglomerate, whose business model seems to be to take over large numbers of previously good hosting companies (such as Hostgator, among many others) and fairly quickly turn them into customer service nightmares.

You might want to think twice before promoting it to anyone who's a "subscriber" or with whom you're in touch, because they're perhaps a little unlikely to thank you for it, in the long run.

There are huge numbers of hosting companies offering commission payments that size. One really doesn't need to resort to promoting EIG-owned companies, to earn those commissions.

I have been using Hostgator for years now (don't remember exactly). I have contacted them several times, and I never had any issue with customer services. Yes, you have to wait for no less than 30 minutes before you are connected, but once you are through, your problem gets solved, at least mine does.

No offense but being a customer (and not an affiliate) I like Hostgator

        My case rests.

Actually, it's not so much "my case", to be honest. There must be 1,000 posts here from members despairing of Hostgator's service, since the EIG takeover.

Funnily enough, until about 3-4 months ago, I was saying myself exactly what you're saying now - that I'd hosted there for 5 years and had absolutely no idea why such huge numbers of people were complaining about what had happened to Hostgator's formerly good customer service (and formerly good hosting reliability). I was one of the last to be affected, it seems.

Well, that's all changed now. For me, finally, Hostgator sucks.

But, more to the point, since then I've been reading up on "other hosts" because I needed to find a new one - certainly not staying at Hostgator! - and have gradually come to the realisation that all the huge numbers of people saying "avoid EIG" are actually right. And there are reasons for this. When you look at how they move the servers, how they replace the customer service staff, and all the other "cost-cutting" things they do to all these formerly good companies they've taken over, well, then it all starts to make sense.

Just a matter of timing, for your perspective. Come back in another 6 months, George, and say the same thing, and then I'll listen (but I'm not exactly holding my breath!).

To be honest, this is something that I hear a lot. They say "Corporations (businesses) are no less than devils, when it comes to profit".

Cost-cutting is not a bad thing, right? That's the reason we have cost management depts.

Businesses do this - they have to do this. Period.

I am not supporting Hostgator or favoring EIG. It is just my point of view,if it is going well, let it be. I will wait for that "bad" day

Maybe one day, you will be reading quite a dreadful post of mine here about Hostgator but if it is not hurting me, my work gets done - what's the issue then?

None, for yourself. This was exactly my position, George, up until about 3 months ago (in spite of all the hundreds of people around me telling me exactly the things I'm now saying. I was stubborn about it, because I'd had 5 years' good service from Hostgator and didn't want to have to move ). I've changed my mind - just like large numbers of others here whose posts you can see for yourself by putting "EIG" into the search function, should you choose to. That's all. You haven't changed your mind because your own experience hasn't led you to do that. Please excuse me for adding "yet"!

First, let me thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience.

I checked out some reviews about hostgator and i saw people who were happy with everything, and in the other hand people who were complaining and were not happy.
So this made me doubt and stop and think for a while, should I really go with Hostgator or find some other web hosting affiliate program.

My question is: Which web hosting affiliate programs would you recommend to me?

    No offense to Lexy...

I've never had an issue with Host Gator and getting paid. And getting to $125 / signup is easier than you think. Think of all the new entrants, think of all the people who switch host. You just need a working system that you enjoy doing.

Saying that - I like CJ, too. And they like me!!

    GRM

P.S: When you discuss hosting, you'll rarely get folks to agree. It only takes one bad experience to sour a person. I've never had that with HG. I host some sites on my own servers, others I host through HG and many other hosting providers. Like anything in this industry, it's best not to put all of your eggs in one basket, especially if you have multiple revenue streams brought about by different online platforms.

I would only use hostgator for basic squeeze page hosting and so on.

I wouldn't use them for my main blog or business mainly due to the reasons in post #3

I think an issue with hosting is this:

    Monopolisation

When hosting companies become huge and massive their quality standards fall and they care less and less about you the small puny customer who is just 1 in a million.

This is why I purchase my hosting from local companies, where I know the support staff by name, the same people helping me all the time and they care about me. And that isn't at the cost of performance or quality either, I get affordable fast VPS hosting with 24 hour backup solutions with Plesk control panel, blazing fast speed etc. in fact the BBC uses the same company.

I was with hostgator for 1 year, just switched to a new host last month. All I can say is the downtime i experience with hostgator was absolutely ridicules, I would advise anybody to stay away at all costs.

The most successful hosting affiliates are generally those who have an active audience of users who need to start websites and need hosting. Generally you'll find the best hosting affiliates are software providers and developers. You can also lump top 10 hosting sites into the mix, but now you're talking about a very highly competitive group of publishers.
