It may not work as it did 5 years ago but imo if done right and done in a prudent manner there is no reason why you cannot get it to work today

  Yes they still work but you are 100% reliant on Google search engine rankings for your traffic and IMO that is no way to build a real business that you can depend on for years to come.
  
  One big authority site with diversified traffic and income sources takes just as much effort as 5 sniper sites and is a much more stable business model going forward IMO.
