Mentioning product name on landing page?

I'm promoting a trusted and well known service through an affiliate network. I want to put the name on my landing page so more people will be likely to click my affiliate link. I'm afraid if I put in the name, the people will just Google the name of the product rather than click my affiliate link button. Does it really matter?

Rather than putting the name of the product, use the headline of the product on your landing page. If they click on your link using the headline that shows that they are somewhat interested in what the product offers and will be more likely to click your link.

Generally people are lazy and will be more likely to click a link than do a Google search to try to find the same thing. Some IMers give both an affiliate link and a non-affiliate link and tell people what the difference is . . . if you have given real value that the buyer considers worth something, then they will mostly click on your affiliate link if you give them the option.

      Chris,

That is very true. People, most of the time, are very lazy and will not go to Google and do a throughout search on this company. They will just click on the ad and that's it.

It is a normal decision for a lot of buyers to do a google research after reading the sales pitch.

If i were you i wouldn't do that, i would suggest you use the main marketing angle of the product you are promoting and make people curious about it and use that as your affiliate link.

When they land on the sales page they can still look for reviews of the product but you still have your affiliate click if they decide to buy it after doing research.

So you have a landing page and there's a name of the product linking to an affiliate site?

    Don't understand.

But anyway if you omit the name do you think less people will click on your link? It seems both ways have a disadvantage.

You shouldn't do that. Here's why, with your squeeze page you need to focus on providing some helpful content, like using the headline mentioned above. That way, people are interested in what it has to offer and not knowing that it's an offer.

Everyone loves to buy, but no one likes being sold to.
