help... old guy seeking easier way of design , etc.

Looking for suggestions to simplify sales letters designs, opt in boxes, landing pages, etc. NOT website, but rather getting ads and postings out there, image ads, etc.
My technical skills are non existent and I need help.
Can anyone refer me to a system or tutorial that is easy to understand and can help me.? Not looking to buy expensive system or program at this time but just want to get started and want to be able to do a few basic things myself.
HELP... appreciate suggestions, etc.
thanks

The best advice I could give you is to look into WordPress.

WordPress is a simple "What You See Is What You Get" content management system, so you can finally layout just about any type of webpage you had in mind WITHOUT any of the coding skills.

Squeeze Pages, Sales Letters, Articles, Blogs, you can really create just about anything you need.

The best part? It's nearly "Free" to get up and running with a WordPress blog.

(The only cost, is a web host, and a domain, because technically WordPress is free).

This is the first thing that comes to mind, and I wish you nothing but the best dear sir.

    Humbly yours

    PS:

Alternatively, you could try a system such as "Leadpages" which requires less technical setup, is hosted for you, but is more expensive.

The world is yours, and options abound.

    I wish you the best.

You say "Not" a website - but EVERYTHING online is a website... you can put up videos on Youtube, you can post to classified ads sites... but the only real way to get what YOU want to say out on the net is to have your own website.

It's not nearly as difficult as it might first appear.

Indeed, for the price of a domain name (as cheap as a dollar or two), hosting (I recently bought a 3 year Linux cPanel hosting plan for $9.95 - *total*, not per month or year...) and an additional $5 for someone on Fiverr to set you up... you can have your own site.

It's what you're going to eventually have to do anyway... so go for it!

Quick addendum to my question above...
What about just posting simple sales pages, image ads, items that will help with marketing once the website is done and I am driving traffic?
Best way to learn to set up basic stuff?
      thanks!

I think what you want is a form (opt-in) on a page with some headlines and some kind of sales letter. Also known as a squeze page.

For this to to you need
        1. a page
        2. a site for page to reside in (or hosted by someone else like leadpages),
        3. a sales letter
        4. a opt in form
        5. some kind of system for handling the information (names, e-mails etc.)

Wordpress is the easy way to get a site with a page.
In wordpress you can also get a plugin with a opt-in form.
        Both will be free

If you pay for a special theme for wordpress like Optimize Press you can make some really sleek opt in pages with minimal expertise. Its a theme made specifically to make nice squeze pages.

Mail-chimp have some cheap options for beginners if you are going to mail out to a list.

        Squeze page done with OP:

If you sit through a good tutorial on wordpress you wont have problems getting a nice site up and running. You need to learn af few things, but wordpress is actually not complicated.
When you feel confident about your site you can add more functionality with plugins, but wordpress by itself will give you a solid platfor and a professional look.

There are templates that will make wordpress look very sleek and solid too.

This tutorial is really all you need to get started:

Thanks to both of you... appreciate it... Wordpress, Leadpages... already have domain and hosting... just looking for a simple way to get "stuff up" ... even the simple redirects are
    beyond me.
Is there a course called "mentoring for idiots"?

There's nothing quite as easy as Optimize Press.
