Anyone Recommend a Really Good Programmer?

I've tried a number of places but would prefer a recommendation. I've got a few hundred dollars to spend, probably up to $1000 for the right programmer. Anyone recommend one?

Programmer to do what exactly. There are a lot of different tasks that a programmer can do, from creating a simple web-form to writing a major computer-game, so it seems to me that you need to be a bit more specific in your question

However, having said that, the answer I'd give, whatever you want to get done, is that there are a lot of good programmers on the outsource sites, and most areas of work on those sites are very competitive, so post your job and see what programmers are willing to charge to get it done.

Personally, I've used oDesk for years, for many different types of jobs. A recent job I got done there was getting a HTML theme made to look and behave responsively the same as a WordPress theme I liked, so I posted a fixed-price job, and the programmers bid what they would be willing to do it for. As with any job, the lower-paid workers tend to often require more communication to get them to do what you want, than the higher-paid ones, so it is up to you whether you get the job done for less cash but probably more of your time, or pay a bit more for someone who will actually read your instructions, ask all the right questions to clarify what is needed before they start, and then do it all and test it all correctly.

    Chris

A few hundred (up to $1K) is not much of a budget. When I freelanced I billed out at $75 per hour (and had more project invites than I could handle). So unless you project is really small (<15 hours) your budget would explain your issues.

You should check out 2 guys named "Adrian Ling" and "Sam Stephens". Great programmers and marketers, and even better human beings.

But whenever you need a computer network tech.... shoot me an email.
