Why is everyone so obsessed with TeeSpring?

Is it very lucrative or what? Why is everyone and their mother on the forum talking about TeeSpring?

I have no experience of it myself but I'd be interested to find out a little more too. Is it like cafepress?

When done right it can be very lucrative.
However, most successful teespringers spend a lot on FB ads which means if a campaign flops or doesn't "tip" it could be a lot of money down the drain, especially if you don't know what you're doing.

    Cheers!

TeeSpring is nothing like CafePress. Instead of just selling shirts, you have to hit a goal for the shirts to sell. If anything they are just a vendor that is similar to Kickstarter, the t-shirts are custom and once the goal is hit, then people are charged.

I've made about $1,300 in the last 2 weeks with it using 2 campaigns, however the only reason it's lucrative is because I have communities backing me.

Well the craze about teespring started about a year ago (sometime in November 2013) when a certain Travis Petelle (goes by the username "Petelta") announced his success in a teespring campaign and t shirt selling became the next shiny object. It has worked for some and failed for others, while some IMers have turned it into a niche, selling courses on how to succeed in T shirt printing and sales.

Well it is easy to create a design and sell it but you have to have some money to promote your Teespring campaign in FB ads.

If you know what's working that would be an easy money making venture but you could lose some money too.

The fact that you automatically assume that you MUST spend money to make money is wrong.

If you already have an existing following/audience, it's definitely possible to just use that audience to promote the designs to and sell.

In total, I've made 134 hoodie/tee sales in 2 weeks and that was without spending a dime.

There was a lot of buzz about Teespring earlier in the year, but I'm not hearing as much about it. And, that makes sense as people are always excited about any new thing they find.

These people usually jump to another site or opportunity as it becomes available. "Shiny object syndrome" is very common online.

Because of the large number of threads like this one, currently on the front page. These things become self-perpetuating, in a forum where people discuss making money online, when they see others making money from something. Don't look now, but you've just added another front-page thread on the same subject.

I have sold THOUSANDS of Tees in the past- but NOT the ''teespoon'' way.

Here's some other little businesses in a box idea:

Buy 100 t-shirts here: T-shirt merk Fruit of the Loom price: 1.25$ piece

Search for some ''hype'' creative common (without author rights and free of use) photo's here:
http://www.gratisfotodownloaden.be/ (there are many others don't worry)

Find a good (local printer) and you should be able to get your t shirts printed for a fair price

      There are others like http://www.customink.com/services/ch...shirt-printing

      There is also http://www.spreadshirt.com/

Now go sell your beauties on the public market, garage sale, here on the WF , Craigslist, Free ads etc

Bye bye teespring... Welcome to your nice ROI

If you want to keep track of product launches, especially higher-priced ones, watch the front page of the main forum.

A day or two after the launch, there will be a buzz of threads by people seeking the content of the product without paying for it. And there are, along with the usual self-promoters and sig pimps, people willing to share that info to show off. Of course, they won't say the info is from the product in question, as they're too busy trying to position themselves so they can sell their knockoff.

Once the bloom is off the rose, these threads tend to die until some link spammer finds it in Google, spams it back to the front page, and gets deleted/banned. Now it looks like renewed interest...

Another method which I prefer is.. spend as little time developing the design (both t-shirts I designed took 15 minutes total each) and spend as little time selling or trying to make it work.

Teespring allowed me to not invest any real time into it and instead I've been able to just focus on the marketing side which took about 5 minutes a day using my existing audiences. In my opinion, less work and less money gives a much higher ROI than you can imagine.

    Usual IM BS
    Someone launches a WSO.
All the sheep and wannabes post on the MF about how much money they are making.
    More people get sucked in.
More people start making BS claims.

I like Tee spring a lot more than cafe press. However, maybe that is just me. Best thing is that they do not make you pay up front and cafe press has that model now. It is a great way to lose some money. Advertising is max expensive. Still, more suckers swim in.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but Cafe Press doesn't make you pay anything upfront to sell t-shirts.

I've had a shop there for several years.

It's just a fad until something else comes along. Some will make it work and stick with it. Others will give up. The Teespring business model is pretty brilliant. They don't print unless they have commitments from enough people to secure them a large profit.

Teespring is one fashion trend shift away from total collapse. Graphic tees come and go. They are still relevant, but the clock is ticking.

Whether you are making Teespring work or running an actual shirt printing operation, now is the time to make the money while you still can. These kind of tees will be on the discount rack in a few years.

I have dabbled with Teesping about 10 different time. I advertised with targeted niches and had a few sales. Nothing worth telling about. However, I can see how this could be profitable very easily. I just needed a bit of tweaking to maximize my campaigns. Will try again soon but very busy with other stuff.
