How to put a link into a slideshow?

I would like to know if anyone out there knows how to put a linkable inage into a slideshow.

An example of this would be on a site like tmz.com where you launch a slideshow that has ads interspersed with the images. You click on the ad and you are linked to another site's landing page.

I appreciate any possible help on this. Thanks in advance.

    If it's a wordpress blog then one way would be to use something like the featured content gallery plugin which links to your posts. Stick a redirect on the post that you want to send to the external landing page.
