Downloading automatically following payment

Hello,

I hope I am at the right forum :-)

I built a woocommerce based site for, Among other things, digital items.
I performed a test on my digital item.
I payed for it using paypal, and then paypal returned me to my site and sent me a receipt but without the download link.

Actually, as a buyer, I couldn't get the item I bought at all, until I "completed" manually the transaction AS the site manager.

I remind you - I bought from my own site for testing. I used 2 paypal accounts, one for buying and one for selling.

The question is, how do I cancel the need of manual approving. I want the buyer to have the item immediately after he pays.

    Hey Dushkin,

    You have to upload your file somewhere. It could be your Cpanel,dropbox,etc. There are also a lot of file hosting websites available.

    When setting up a paypal button you have this option:

    "take customers to this URL when they finish checkout"- here you enter the download link.

    Or you could send them to a Thank You page first which you set up earlier thanking them their interest and for buying your product and place the download link there.

      That's a perfect answer from Andrew. I just wanted to add you will see the checkbox by clicking on the "Advanced" tab while creating your paypal payment button.

    You need to set this up in Woocommerce.

    In the Dashboard, goto Products > Add new product.
    Enter the product name, description etc.
    In the Product Data area, make sure the "Downloadable" checkbox is checked. A new area for downloadable files will appear. Enter the file name and the download URL in the appropriate boxes. Set the download limit and expiry (if appropriate) and the download type.
    Preview to make sure everything is OK, then click publish.
