Bring the HYPE!!!! But HOW?

BRING the "BUZZ"

From movie trailers, TV ads, news print ads and social media...the "big boys" know how to generate HYPE for product, business, or movie launches.

I am very interested in knowing what other Warriors have done to generate HYPE prior to, during and after a WSO, business, affiliate program, kindle book, or website launch.?

Can you recommend any resources? Any thoughts on what not to do?

Many Thanks,
-Terrance

Hype has a very negative connotation for most people. It suggests deception, false promises, trickery, and not getting one's moneys worth.

My guess is . . . that's not what you're talking about. I would call it "buzz," "attention," or lots of people talking about and writing about an event or product.

If that's the case, one of the things I would suggest is to pay for a professional press release. Most of the free PR sources are marginally useful. But if you have a well written PR and a great story behind it, and if you submit it to the right places, it can bring a lot of attention to your cause.

    Good luck,

To be honest: the knowledge is worth more to me than all of my fixed assets, combined.

The best advice I can give you is to become a student of viral content. Learn what makes content go viral. Then replicate.

          Hey Terrance,
The title of your Thread really threw me off. I do not think you meant it in a negative connotation. But as others have pointed out stay away from that word, "hype", it really does not go over good in business particularly around here

Personally, I think maintaining a level of visibility on the Warrior Forum as well as other Sites that are similar to what you may be promoting is prudent.

And I mean "visible" in a good sense. Just giving good information and insight with some useful commentary. NO spamming of course !

That will indirectly keep the Buzz going on any products you are launching.

Hype is a word I don't like purely down to the reasons that were mentioned above. Now if you consider selling something you created yourself then these are the things to consider...

Apart from yourself have you had anyone test drive it? If not consider asking established and well respected marketers to do this for you. Ask them for constructive feedback as well as asking them to do a testimonial. This will certainly go a long way to heighten the interest but also proves that the product does what it claims to do.

Use many different methods to promote the product. Promoting on various Social media platforms, guest blogging and forum posting are all good techniques.

Ask yourself, would you buy it? Answer honestly because lies can be seen.

The most important thing to remember is people invest in people and not the products. If you promote yourself as a trustworthy brand who is giving as much value as possible then that will be enough to promote anything.

I wish you all the best. Any questions please ask away.

I would find 3 people within your niche who you find create amazing viral content and model it off them or you can outsource someone to do it for you.

I am launching a $7 product soon to build my list and I will be outsourcing the sales ad from someone from fiverr.com - you may have to pay more than $5 even though you are using fiverr but I would much rather have a great sales ad and make more money then do it myself given I am not talented when it comes to infusing hype in my work.

If you want an honest answer, host an affiliate contest with $1000+ in prizes. Money talks and JV partners will listen. ($1000 is more on the low end to be honest). If you have a proper back end in place, you will know how many sales the affiliates need to make for you to be profitable, so first place can be $500, minimum 100 F/E sales or something.

Now , take your professional JV page with contest info and post it on muncheye, facebook product launch groups, and reach out to affiliates personally. You will also be building JV relationships for future projects as well.

    This does the trick.

One online marketer had sent me a dynamic email, followed by a dynamic schedule of what I should be on the edge of my chair to see on certain dates to culminate with the reveal in a webinar. He sent out emails and videos that kept me intrigued and interested.

On the reveal day, I could hardly wait for his big news and then the webinar did not happen. About 5,000 of us were on GoToMeeting but no host. I left it up for 30 minutes...thinking maybe he was stuck in traffic (in his home?)...nothing...no explanation...no apology...nothing...all of his hard work setting up the anticipation for 5,000 people fizzled.

So I guess to sum this all up, if you promise something to your list, be sure to deliver. Give them more than what they were expecting and be on time...but if something happens beyond your control, apologize and redeliver on another date.

  • Apple is a master at it! Also look at star wars 7 they have sites where they post if Harrison Ford tripped during filming. If you want big buzz you need something big the people will stop their lives to focus on and there are not many things like that. Make a list then ask yourself which ones of these can I possibly pull off.

'Buzz' is a better word, but we know what you mean by 'hype'. I call it 'promotion', and have found press releases to work best of all. If you can make your product or service newsworthy, media is always looking for interesting stuff to feature.
