Hey Warrior!

I'm trying to make a survey in order to determine the subscribers in my list what they are looking for actually being registered as well as see who is really willing to spend money buying products and who are looking for free stuff.

What do you think it is important to ask questions?
How to segment your subscribers?
Economic situation? Married / unmarried? Age? Did they ever spent money on-line?

Would love to get ideas

To be honest, I don't think you're approaching it the right way.

You'd have better luck presenting your list with offers, and then using your auto responder's automation features to move them to a different list if they buy one of those offers.

Asking if they WOULD buy is not really telling you anything. They opted into your list, and if you want to see who wants to buy and who doesn't work on presenting your list with as high converting of an offer as possible...then you'll have your answer.

This is an interesting approach, I actually thought to ask them what's stopping them from succeeding at the moment, that is what they lack or what they need and how to target products required

How is that you don't already know this, Ronen? What did they sign up for? What did you offer them in exchange for their email addresses in the first place? What are the traffic sources?

"A bunch of email" in that field? Hmmm, that can't help?

Do you have enough successful experience of internet marketing, yourself, to be advising/teaching others how to do it? (One way or another, that is more or less what you'll have to do, I think, to monetize the niche?).

I ask not to criticise at all, but simply because it seems well established that being involved in "IM-related niches" is probably the single commonest mistake that aspiring marketers make, Ronen, and the biggest single reason for their failures.

The only certainty for you, in this area, is that you've chosen to compete for the same traffic and sales against some of the world's most experienced, most professional, most successful and best-funded marketers, and I can't help wondering why you'd want to stack the deck against yourself to such a big extent?

Sorry - I know it's not what you wanted to hear, but I intend it helpfully. Are you sure you're trying to do the right sort of thing, here?

Does post #8 of this thread, from earlier today, or any of the rest of that thread, help/interest you?

          Alexa,

I know the big sharks, i see them every day. i am quite sometime doing this and i don't think i should stand a side if there are bigger and better than me (at this time). if i would do so than whats the point of me tring to be successful? I am not affriad, i am well awere of what i stand against. try to make it a benefit for me.

The point of my survey is to know my list a bit better and to know what they are looking for, i think its a legit thing to do, no metter how big you are.

I like questionnaire, they can provide a sense of interaction to the person whilst allowing you to segment your list and also increase your selling opportunities. In my area of work I find that for organic traffic its best to place the questionnaire before they opt in.

I use a small multi part questions, imagine I run a company called Secret Ninja Traffic and you come to my site organically. On the page you will see the question

What's the problem you are having with traffic?
    1. I'm not getting any
    2. I'm not getting enough
    3. I don't know what I'm getting
    4. I'm getting plenty but they are not buying

Each option then leads to a different question (in total there are five questions) the final question is always

Who do you want to do this?
    1. I want to outsource the full thing
    2. I want someone to come in and train us
    3. I want to do it myself

At the end of this they are segmented and placed into a funnel depending on their answers meaning that the pitch from there on in is semi tailored to their needs.

The same principals can be used for affiliate marketing as well.

The point of my survey is to know my list a bit better and to know what they are looking for
    So ask them.

"Hi, In order to get to know you better and determine what would be the most helpful to you, please take this short survey."

Economic situation? Married / unmarried? Age? Did they ever spent money on-line?
    Here are your survey questions.

Offer them something of real value upon completion.

I recently completed a Bingads survey for a $25 gift card.

    Don't overcomplicate the process.

A certain portion of your list will unsubscribe anyway. Another portion of your list won't even receive your emails because it may end up in spam folder (or fill in a false name and email address). Another portion of your list only wants a freebie. Another portion of your list will have to double confirm that they want your info (even if you have single-optin as your preference). And another portion of your list are actually good candidates for selling something to.

Just find something relevant to your subscribers, make or find a product, create backend products for it, and sell it. Just sell it and make money man.
