Niche Site vs Blog Site

Ok I'm still confused between the two.

Base on my understanding, niche site is a very specific niche while a blog site is a more general niche? am I right?

Is there a difference when it comes to number of posts/articles? Can a niche site survive with just one good very specific article?

Ummm .... blog site can also have a specific niche. Niche site also has specific niche. What do you mean by one good article? Niche site or blog site both need to be updated regularly.

      Thanks for that.

So what's really the distinction? why are people choosing one over the other? are there any advantage or disadvantages on these two? or it's just for the term itself?

Why would some choose to have a niche site if your blog site can have niche topic afterall?

First find a niche, then decide how to make money in that niche - creating a blog is an option, building a website is another option.

The term "niche site" means only a website that's in a specific niche. E.g. godaddy.com is a website in the hosting/domain niche. A niche is just another word for category.

Everybody is: there isn't a clear differentiation between the two.

Nobody knows, any more, what the difference is between a "blog" and a "non-blog site".

It's possible to make all kinds of sites with blogging software, including "static sites", and it's equally possible to make regularly updated sites with dated posts without using blogging software at all. So there's really no meaningful or significant distinction between the two.

    I don't think so.

I don't see why the difference between a "blog" and a "site that isn't a blog" should have anything to do with the degree of specificity of the niche.

There are people with blogs on very narrowly defined, highly specific niches, and there are also people with non-blog sites covering very broad, wide markets.

I wouldn't think so. I don't see why "quantity of posts/articles" should be a distinction between the two, either. Content quantity doesn't determine whether something's a blog or not; nor does it necessarily determine or relate to the specificity of the niche.

That depends on countless variables, such as traffic sources and demographics, the conversion-rate of the opt-in, and all sorts of other things. A site can "survive" without an article at all.

TL;DR version: "specific niche sites" can be blogs or not blogs; "broader market sites" can also be blogs or not blogs. Attempting to distinguish between niche sites and blog sites is a "category error".

A niche Site could survive on this one long , quality article. BUT only for something like Article Marketing. Which actually is the way to go with one or two very good articles on a Page

If you are looking for SE traffic then one article would not be sufficient

I think in the past people used to research for a niche, find a few good keywords, create a 5 pages website and rank it... it used to work a few years ago.

Now that doesn't work anymore. Google likes authority websites with lots of quality pages.
