How are SPAMMERS able to do this in Fiverr?

I got this spam message by email from Fiverr and when I try to
read it within my Fiverr account to report it as spam I get this
message:

"For privacy reasons, this user may not be contacted directly."

So I cannot open the message in Fiverr, and so I cannot report it.

What's up here?

    This happened to me once. For some reason, fiverr admins locked up my account due to suspicious activity?? It was weird but I contacted them via email and they fixed it fairly quickly. Not sure if this is your case or not...

    I'm only guessing, Ray, but I think that may be the explanation, here. It would make sense?

    (That's what happens, in my own forum, if someone is reported for "spammy p.m.'s". By the time others try to report them, the miscreant has already been removed, so people have an automated email telling them there's a new p.m., but when they log in, they can't open the message. Your situation sounds similar?).

    All that would make sense EXCEPT, the message is confusing. It appears
    that there is some privacy setting that says, "Don't contact me, but I'll contact
    you".

    If that's the case Alexis, then their messaging is really off base for an account
    lockout.

    No, my account is fine. It's just that I cannot open and read the spammer's message
    but I can open other messages.

    Yeah, that happens to me all the time now. Basically, I get a spam message. However, I cannot reply to the spammer. Ah, not sure what the reason is. Most are trying to sell services in a gray area. For example, they sell you tube views. Wish that FIVERR would send them on their way. I have my inbox filling up. Most of it is spam.

    There's actually someone going around Fiverr and aggressively spamming users from various different accounts selling my book as their own product. It's very frustrating to me, I got a lot of emails from people about this.

    That's why you can not contact them or even report them to Fiverr.

      If that's the case then Fiverr should say so. Something like YouTube videos
      for accounts that are deleted, the message does say that the video is no
      longer available blah, blah or user deleted.

      Speaking of YouTube, I also got a spam message from them by email
      and when I clicked on the link the message was not in my YT inbox.

      This is crazy.

        If it's anything like the same situation I mentioned, in my own forum, we wouldn't actually be able to do that, Ray, because at the time I kick someone out I don't know to which other members they've already sent (spammy?) private messages.

        Only those members know that.

        To find that out, before banning them, I'd have to re-set the to-be-banned member's password to get into their account and open their "sent messages" folder. And I wouldn't feel very comfortable doing that! Besides which, they could easily have deleted the "sent copies" anyway.

        Fortunately, it very rarely happens.
