Is Promoting the Credit Card Pocket Knife Ethical?

I was in my Clickbank account the other day when i saw a banner
asking for affiliates to promote the new Credit Card Pocket
knife, a knife you can fold and fit into your wallet. I thought
this was interesting as i saw the ad on tv a few times.
However i was taken aback when i saw on there sales page
that this knife cannot be detected by TSA at the airport and
thought isn't this against the safety of passengers?
What are your thoughts on this new product? Would you
promote such a product?

    No, I wouldn't and I'm surprised it's on Clickbank because "hidden" or hiden knives are forbidden by Paypal TOS to be sold. Same with knives that look like a pen or other harmless object.

    These knives are completely detectable in the x-ray. So I guess the questions should really be "is it ethical to promote such a falsely advertised product?".

    I would think (and hope) it contravenes ClickBank's terms of service/policies and must have "slipped through the net", I suppose? My guess is that it won't be there for long, at all. I wouldn't promote it, needless to say.

    I don't know anything about these knives, but it's been my experience that if you find yourself asking, "Is this ethical?" -- it probably isn't.

    My guess is that it won't be there for long, at all.
    I think it's been removed. Replaced with a free lighter I believe.

    Those "Survivalists" are a strange group.

      Don't underestimate their buying power. We accidentally hit on a few survivalist products back in the days when eBay didn't suck (2001 or so) and those guys were great. They paid on time and most of them paid with cash through the mail. I loved those guys.

    Would I sell it ? - No.
    Should ClickBank make it available to sell? That's entirely up to ClickBank.

    I've seen the ad a few times already on Clickbank. Not too sure what their reasoning for promoting this offer so heavily is. To me looks like a waste of money and has no real value to internet marketers. This should've been kept on the "As Seen On TV" section at the store. I doubt it'll be advertised for much longer, conversions are probably really low I could imagine. I would waste a dime on it, but that's me. Just surprised it's on Clickbank like this.

    You pose a great and interesting question.
    I've always followed one simple rule as it pertains to matters like this - If it doesn't feel right, don't do it. I tend to agree with what's already been posted and I wouldn't promote it.

    The knife itself is "ethical", I have one in my wallet. It's no different than carrying a pocket knife. I have mine as a backup for nature survival, not hijacking planes. I would never even try to take one through TSA or other similar security.

    How it is advertised and used is a different story. But since it has a metal blade, at least mine does, I don't see how it could get through an x-ray or metal detector.
