It doesn't matter much. Google traffic isn't much good for affiliate marketing, anyway. I always suggest to people that they shouldn't put time and effort into trying to attract SEO traffic, for two main reasons: first, it's very precarious and makes your business Google-dependent, and any business that's Google-dependent is no more than one algorithm-change away from a potential accident (or even a potential disaster), as so many Warriors have been finding out over the last year or two, some of them to their very great cost; secondly, for me, search engine traffic, in every single one of my niches, has been uniformly the worst-converting traffic out of everything I've ever tried - search engine visitors to all my websites typically stay the least time, view the fewest pages, opt in the least often and actually buy anything by far the least often. I admit I do get tons of search engine traffic to all my main sites (because high rankings for multiple keywords happen to be a minor side-benefit of the main targeted traffic-generation method I use) but I'd hate to have to make a living just from that traffic. If you have a good look round the forum, you'll also see plenty of other Warriors making exactly this point.

A WordPress blog with 600-word articles can actually be quite a simple landing page, depending on the content and how it's presented. But don't pre-judge the "article length". Some articles need more than 600 words; some might need less.

(I'm wondering whether you might have meant "squeeze page", when you said "landing page"? They're two different things: post #9 of this thread explains. ).

You need an "opt-in page", to build a list, to do affiliate marketing successfully.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a "squeeze page".

Here's the point: to earn significant money from affiliate marketing, you need to do three things ...

(i) Keep your potential customers returning to the sales page (because not so many people buy anthing much at their first visit to a sales page!);

(ii) Make increasing sales (ideally at progressively higher prices) to the same "captive audience" who regularly rely on and trust your recommendations;

(iii) Establish the credibility and trust necessary to do both the above by earning's people respect as a provider of niche-related information.

Without building lists, of course, you can't do any of the three and you'd just be throwing away almost all the traffic you ever generate that doesn't buy anything immediately. It would be just like running the bath by opening the taps fully but without first putting the plug in the hole to retain the water!

For most people, most of the time, it's just about as simple as that, overall.

This is exactly the method I have followed since day 1 and now i'm living my life the way I wanted. The only bit of advice I will offer you... Be realistic and take baby steps towards your overall goal. Its all good learning but there will come a time when you need to take action. To achieve this set yourself a deadline for learning. A sound understanding of the basics will always put you in a great position in the future. Good luck.

you can start now with as little as $50. As for traffic, you can do this organically. Granted it takes longer to see results but its not impossible. For example what stopping you from using Social media platforms to begin your branding and starting a following? Its free to do that.

Only just saying please don't think im having a go. We just see so many people who want to make a success online fail because of the lack of action.

If you know how to do it properly CPA and a good landing are the way to go. But sadly this require some money to invest and knowledge. In the lack of both I will suggest to start a blog and write good contents. This will helps you increase your audience and start to get some good money. In future when the income become stable you can invest more in profitable action. Be consistent and spread your contents like your life depends on it, this will make you succeed faster.
