I am starting work on a member site soon, and I would like to see what are the best memberships out there to get some ideas.

I would love to here from anyone who has a membersite and can give some advice.

All the best, Phil

  • Some of the best membership sites out there are the software services like autoresponders Aweber and GetResponse. Also SEO software like SENuke and Brute Force SEO.

In terms of teaching/content membership sites NicheProfitClassroom seems to do very well as do backlink packet memberships like Angela and Paul's.

  • Hi,

Thanks for the input I use aweber, but never thought at looking at their site for ideas, I agree it is a great site and very functional and informative.

I am looking more towards membership sites for people in general not just for IMers.

    Thanks, Phil
  • Then sadly go check out as many porn sites as you can bare to look at. They are the leading edge of content delivery for the general public and they're usually about 2 years ahead of even the IM crowd because there's so much more money there.
  • I wasn't thinking of doing any "research" in that area. I might have to take a peep strictly for business purposes.

    • Affiliatenaire & Membernaire from Jimmy.D.Brown is another example of Monthly MemberShip Site.
  • Dating sites are also "successful membership sites"...

That said, I would rather focus on your niche's needs instead of 'successful sites'. Give them what they want and are willing to pay for and you will be successful

  • My site is doing well. I went live on the internet last December.

What exactly do you want to know about membership sites?

In my opinion, you should have a unique product and offer some freebies. What kind of membership site were you considering?
  • natural cures
  • What I did was I thought of something I knew something about that is membership based. Google that with affiliate behind it, like I did match.com affiliate and now I get paid every month for members I recruit. The sky is pretty much the limit.
  • Membership sites are good if you teach or provide a service...

    • Lisa is 100% right. So long as you deliver quality content, info and as needed some decent tech support, you can thrive with a membership site. You might also do some recon on Russell Brunson and his "continuity" model.

  • Hi,

The membership will be a football tipster site done using joomla, I have already built some of the site.

Any tips from people who have membership sites appreciated.

Thanks for the input so far.

    • I have a membership site. From my feedback from members, I've noticed that they are all appreciative of the 'free' information/resources I offer.

There's are good books such as "Cashvertising" and "Persuasion", that explain the psychological principle of GIVING something to people and they feel compelled to RECIPROCATE the gift.

This works quite well with a memebership site because you are asking them for money, so, you should give them something of value first.
  • Hi Phil,

Take a look at our clients page:

    SubHub Membership Website Clients

Many of the clients on this page, such as Herbmentor (http://www.herbmentor.com) have extremely popular websites, with regularly updated content and a very active community.

At the end of the day it comes down to targeting a niche that you know and are passionate about, and which will be able to generate revenue for you from subscriptions.

Plenty of tips in our free eBook, The Membership Website Jumpstart Guide:

    Hope this helps,

  • wealthy affiliate and stompernet to name a few.
  • StomperNet is probably the king of membership sites. A license to print money...

Happyguy - no problem. Hopefully it'll give you lots of useful ideas

  • The Early to Rise folks have always been really good at this.

I think I am right in saying Russel Brunson is involved with a few good membership sites or micro-continuity sites.

For me, Lee Mcintyre's memberships seem to be very good.
  • The trouble I found with the big membership sites was that you get a 1000 people all doing the same thing and it kills the effectiveness.

I run a small botique membership training site that does quite well and have quite a few students.

Rather than trying to follow a system we concentrate on teaching skills and pick up mainly small business owners.
