The best solo ad provider for the MMO niche would be absolutely horrible for the Weightloss niche.

So first you have to specify which niche you're talking about.

Optin rate has absolutely nothing to do with it. That's a problem on YOUR side, not the solo ad provider. If you presume that the traffic is in your niche, and clicking over to your squeeze page - then the solo ad provider has done everything possible.

Your optin rate, on the other hand, is entirely on you... if the potential subscribers are actually in your niche, and actually clicked to look at your squeeze page - what more could you ask of your solo ad provider?

Now, it's true that an extraordinary list owner, who has a high degree of trust, could send really hot traffic your way, that might optin at a higher rate - but weighing this against your squeeze page factors, I'd say the issue is far more on your side than the solo ad provider.

As for prices, I'd pay no more than the average... I don't consider any traffic to be so good that I'd lay down $80 for a hundred clicks, for example.

Your best option is going to be looking around Facebook for reviews that include the word "sales".

While YOUR sales will have nothing to do with what someone else has gotten - if a solo ad seller is selling traffic that converts to sales (and recently), then that's the best possible criteria for a valuable solo seller.

Anybody who split tests and spends thousands of dollars finding the best solo ad vendor will not give away that information for free.

(Well I've seen it happen once or twice, but it's seriously rare. And even if, do you trust free data? Perhaps it's better to split test and find out on your own?).

Not being harsh, just trying to help you and I wish you nothing but the best.

Hop on Facebook and check out the solo ad groups. Read, read, and read some more. You will slowly see what sellers are good and what ones to stay away from.

Now, keep this in mind. A good seller can turn bad. Many have.

Monitor your clicks, watch for scams, don't hesitate to confront a seller if something just does not seem right.

I have bought many independent solos and got mixed results from OK'ish to taking my money and not even delivering the solo. I much prefer to use udimi where you can view prices, track open rates, quaility and sources of traffic of all the solo providers listed. It's not perfect, but I have had far better results with it than without.

Your best solo ad provider will be the one you:

A: Gets great results in terms of opt-in rates first (maybe some sales)
B: Once you got the person for option A then buy a bigger package to measure sales
C: If they did great on option A and option B, then continue buying from them

Then continue to buy from him/her if your results are great.
