Is this scammy? Or legit?

Can this site make potential sales? Or does this template, along with the whole sales page seem like a scam or made by someone with no skills? I'm an affiliate marketer trying to make a good squeeze page for a PPC campaign. Is this any good, or is it garage?

I'm also promoting a service that is widely known and has very good reputation, so sales will be high if I get enough people to click the link.

This site doesn't really inspire me, I wouldn't throw valuable PPC traffic at it. It looks like hundreds or thousands of similar sites circa 1996.

I feel you... I guess it's time for me to learn CSS, Java, HTML5, and how to write good content.

Word of caution re: PPC such as adwords you're gonna get hit by the info harvesting policy, user safety... and most likely get rich quick schemes... Also don't use popups and exit captures... The manual review process can be a nightmare so be prepared...

That's probably just a bunch (or truckload) of videos on internet marketing stuff like, how to build a list, how to do this and that - perhaps useful since it's free to learn something if you're inclined towards becoming an affiliate someday - sure it's free you may learn something in it.

I would recommend you build a website that has a few affiliate offers on it and this one can be one of them.

Most places online will not allow you to send traffic to the sales page right away. Plus, you want to collect name and emails of people who opt into your newsletter so that you can follow up with them. This way you can send them all sorts of offers in the future too.

Interesting... what struck me was the claim that over 200K members are making money online - working from home - with these videos. Really? Unless they have a consistent, unified theme or program with these videos, it would seem just another random video collection that may or may not help. Rest of the copy looks like ad rehash.

I would take a 3 second look at that ad and move on. It has every element of all the tired, worn out, hype filled work-at-home scammy offers:

        FREE
        you're a 9 to 5 slave
        how to make money online
        work your own hours
make as much money as you want
        looking for extra money?
        sick of the gurus?

How obviously bad does it need to be?

I agree the sales copy needs much work. Too much describing and not enough pain/relief or problem/solution points.

"I would definitely recommend ----- because, why not?"

Not exactly a compelling reason to join.

It also depends a lot on the product you are promoting. There are a number of "affiliate marketing" member sites that offer "free training" videos for pre-sales.

Since your leads are clicking on ads and already looking for a "make money" solution there is no point in telling them all the stuff they already know (as Steve said). Of course it would be great to escape the 9-5 or make extra money- they already know that and that's why they ended up on your page.

Instead focus on the fear of being ripped off or scammed and the relief of joining a well known and reputable program. The free videos are no risk, etc.

Talk about the proven principles of the site and it's program vs scams and shady online businesses.

Problem: Where to start as a newbie
Solution: Proven step-by-step training by reputable program.

          Problem: Spending $100s
Solution: Low monthly member fee. Quit any time. Money back guarantee. Etc.

          Problem: Fear of getting scammed
Solution: Reputation, longevity and authority of the program. Testimonials.

A better headline than "100+ free affiliate marketing video tutorials". Something stronger that pulls them into your pre-sales copy.

Also you need much stronger calls to action. Larger text, buttons. The "Sign Up Below" font is terrible. Use something bolder and clearer.

Is this a pre-sales page that will send them to a salespage via affiliate link?

If so, examine the sales page they will be landing on and make your pre-sales page similar in design and content- fonts, colors. Use similar pain/relief points.

You want to quickly pre-sell on the hot buttons to get them to click through to the sales page. You don't want the sales page to be jarringly different than the pre-sales page you sent them from.

You will be relying on the conversion of the sales page. You want to warm up the traffic with a good pre-sales page without stepping on the ability of the sales-page to do its job and convert the traffic.

Edit: Just saw your last post identifying Affilorama. I was a paid member there and still a free member. You could do a much better job promoting it than this sales page just using the resources they give you.

Are you a member? Because what they offer would give you a much better landing page than the one you've shown here.

This is a very old style marketing page and probably does not have current content on it either. The time it would take to go through the site would be much better spent learning something current and useful. Just my 2 cents worth.

Most likely the information that you are getting on that site can already be taught on the forum and they are also most likely going to be up selling to you other offers that may not be worth your time. Save your money, participate on the forum, learn from others, and then start marketing yourself.

You're quite a pleasant person, huh? I just read another one of your posts where you're telling someone that all they need is determination and don't need any tools {wrong}...yet you're selling IM products "for a fraction of the cost". What gives?

How could it be a scam when it's "free to sign up"?
Do you mean there are free scams? But if 200,000
members are already doing this, then it's surely a
very secretive society because I've never heard of it.

It looks like a typical "long sales page" type of lander, but it's hard to say if it's "scammy" or "legit".. I personally don't like these types of pages, but that's just me.

Also for PPC, I'm going to guess this would likely get a very low quality score (but again, it's hard to say without seeing the full site)

I think if the word "scammy" comes to mind - you should listen to it - even if its free or not. The question is "is this how you want to spend your time?" Good luck

No it's not how I want to spend my time. I don't like promoting MMO products but I thought they had great potential, and I might in the future, but for now I'm going to promote health and specifically meditation and nutrition. I already have some plans and I think this is a bigger niche and I enjoy it a lot anyways.

The website I'm promoting is actually very popular...it's called Affilorama.

Dude, this site screams - scam.

If it could scream any louder, I would have to plug up my ears.

All you need now is to have a BIG RED BUY button and sell a $7 report - the magic is in seven.

Don't use those fonts that look like graphite or broken letters. You need to show your business as legit.

Also must of those Get Rich Quick Methods don't really work.

There are great sales letter templates in Wordpress already if you don't want to learn HTML or CSS.

First impressions, there's a lot of text.

You do realise LeadPages offer free HTML downloads of all their templates without the need of even having to sign up right?

I'd suggest downloading one of those & tweaking it. Those have already been tested to save you losing £££ on PPC campaigns trialing poor squeeze pages.
