End of Fiverr. Wrong moves.

Well have had the best of Fiverr 3 years ago when it was just starting up and today I have stopped all my dealings with them.

I waited 40 days to receive $104 which they mistakenly took from the gigs completed and yet to respond to me.

But worse than that, they just introduced a scheme where if a seller cancels a gig the buyer would only receive Fiverr credits I think they are going to have a snowball of people leaving the scene. Well for me I had enough of them. Just the worse support desk I have ever experienced.

Not to mention a few bucks for yourself?

I've only ever been a customer there. I had to try to use the Support "service" on only one occasion, and my experience of it neatly matches the description you give here (i.e. they never replied to me at all, so I just dropped it, after sending two messages.)

I've bought gigs there perhaps 35 times, now, and been happy on more than 30 of those occasions. For $5 each time (sometimes a little more), you can't complain too much about that (as a customer, I mean). So, I hear ya', but I hope Fiverr doesn't disappear, myself.

      .

Imagine how much you would have been paid if you got a decent rate.

That's more money than most people make in their first few years online combined (some people never do those numbers) so congrats on that!

Sorry to here about fiverr really dropping the ball on this one.. that's poor service all around. I wish you the best wherever you take that business!

You we're doing them a huge favor by being on their site my!

      ..it's their loss

    Hey kursat,

That's terrible. I still believe strongly in the Fiverr business model, but it seems that they need to devote themselves to better support. They need to remember: you take care of your suppliers just as much as your buyers.

Fiverr has been a great resource for most all product creators, etc. I know there are other marketplaces like Fiverr, but none of them have gained traction. I'm hoping they will realize this soon.

A bit off topic perhaps, but when it comes to internet marketing related gigs Seoclerks isn't a bad option either, and they have a lot of traction from what i see.

Completely agree that fiverr is going down big time ...
Another annoying thing is the number of spam messages you receive everyday from people promoting there services ... i have tried to report them as spam but no effect

There are so many freelancing market place, you can try another. Fiverr's per gigs is $5, but another sites has no bound. you can spend even $1 for a contact or any big amount, there is no problem.

I think your statement is a bit blown out of proportion. There might have been some sort of confusion or something which caused this issue. It happens with any platform. Just one bad experience should not put you off the whole platform. As you yourself said you have done more than 4200 gig orders, so you must have got all that money on time without any problem. Is one incident going to put you off forever? If they were known for cheating you would have probably experienced problems earlier itself and wouldn't have stayed with them long enough to complete 4000+ gig orders. Don't get me wrong - I am not blindly supporting fiverr. And you might be spot on about their customer service being crappy, but I still think since you didn't encounter any payment problems till now (that is why you stayed with them for so long), one-off incident shouldn't cause you so much distress.

  • As much as I love Fiverr, I do have to say that their support is up and down.

Someone took my WSO and sold it for $5 on the Fiverr platform, and they didnt really take the time to help me out. Ad I still don't know if they took that gig down lol

I had the opportunity to do all types of sales letters from Fiverr. Great experience, then I moved on and began charging a decent price for my services.

It may be a mistake. Many people are using the fiverr, because of the rate is $5 per gigs. Of you do not like the fiverr, you can choose another freelancing market place. There are so many freelancing sites, in the world.

Have you spoken with anyone at Fiverr or reviewed their terms of service? This seems really seedy on their part.

It's always like that when you live off somebody's success.
They make the rules and you stick by it or find an alternative.

Fiverr use to be great years ago. Sadly, they seem to be going to the fee bay school of consumer service. People do not reply when you place a gig. Also, they block PM now. Hard to figure out what is going on. Maybe WF can create a competitor to FIVERR that charges $10 and is similar to what Fiverr use to be until they decided to become Pinterest 2.0

I had this issue with fiverr where one of my gig is completed but still shows in my to do list tab. I got in touch with customer support. It's over 7 months now it's still the same. Support ticket is open even after all these days. No updates.

But then I was afraid when my account was hacked. I was shocked how they responded to that and resolved everything after I confirmed my identity. They even got my funds back which hacker used to buy adult images.

Fiverr's support team used to respond in like 5 hours 2 years back. Now they take a minimum of 2 days.

Fiverr is changing so much day by day. But, according to my experience hey have solved some issues very faster to me. And they took not more than 24 hours to respond my answers. From 5 months , they have increased a lot for expanding of the site. According to that they need to increase there customer support simultaneously. So that people wont get frustated and move away because of service they are providing.

I waited almost 50 days to get a simple payment problem sorted and they are trying everything to avoid paying it. It actually got worse when I investigated it. I thought they owed me $140 but when I checked all the gigs in the last 4 years, they actually owe me $417 . Will I get that now? Don't think so.

I am starting to close all my gigs and then will concentrate more on other freelance sites and eventually just work on my own without a middle man.

Sorry to hear that. I sell my services on fiverr as well, but never had a problem with them before. Maybe this could be your chance to focus on selling your services with a higher price tag. $4 is just very underpaid.

I love Fiverr and still think is a great way to make money online. The only problem is that some new people tend to over deliver their services for just $5 and don't realise that is not a sustainable business if you take 4 hours to earn just 5 dollars.

Wow, I didn't know about that - they'll be making an absolute fortune from that alone, that's insane!

    *edit*

After submitting that post I just thought... By law (in the UK at least), you're entitled to a refund within 14 days... So I guess if you *really* wanted your money back, they'd have to give it to you.

I was not purchasing gigs, I am a seller at Fiverr so not sure what rights I had but I have given up on them. Just last week I sent them 24 messages and no response from them, at one point I even sent a tweet to their CEO but he also did not response. I just hope that one day they go back to the good small company they were, because I know there are many people who start making their first bit of money at Fiverr.

Exactly why Warriors should insist on supporting other sites run by your community members instead of erroneously believing that there can only be one! We've been complaining about Fiverr for a few years already - and they have not changed.

You don't notice things until they happen to you - just a numbers game. Sooner or later they will touch you and it will sting! Then you'll learn your lesson.

This is the only good thing about Fiverr, that it really is a good starter for noob marketers. However, this distinction is no longer Fiverr's only. In fact, I make larger per item sales on other sites than even possible on Fiverr. They may have massive traffic, but that traffic is not getting to your gig.

Smaller sites, have more people seeing your gig. If you create gigs in less competitive areas, then your chances of sales increase dramatically. Using the leverage of other sites should not be overlooked.

Buyers should also look at other sites and not just focus on Fiverr.
