Please Help Me Understand This

For several weeks (a few months actually, I think) I've had the link to Willie Crawford's "$1,000 in 24 Hours" Blog Talk radio episode in my signature here. It's an episode where Willie just gives a lot of great free content. I'm in no way associated with Willie at all, but I thought it was fantastic info and decided to put the link in my signature for all of those people who come here in dire financial straits and are asking Warriors to bail them out or how they can raise gobs of cash in a day.

But as I've been listening to it again, I'm confused. Willie says to create 2 products and offer one for a 100% commission up front to potential affiliates and then upsell them to a second product on the one-time-offer page (or sell the re-sale rights in the one-time offer -- if you don't have a second product). Do I have that right?

Suppose I'm offering a product for $29 and on the OTO page, I'm offering re-sale rights for another $29. Why would anyone bother to buy re-sale rights if they have a 100% commission anyway (assuming that the first affiliates aren't customers of the product)? This just makes no sense. What am I misunderstanding?

If you've heard it or are willing to listen to it, I'd greatly appreciate some clarification. I'm just really confused by it. (Yes, I've messaged Willie and the RAP guys, but haven't received a response yet.)

  • I have listened to that talk show, as well. It is basically a take on the $7 script concept.

    You create two products. One on the front end, and one on the backend. The frontend product retails for, let's say $14. You find affiliates to sell that product for you, and you offer them 100% commission. When the customer buys from that affiliate, they go to your OTO page or they end up on your list.

    At that point you offer the customer(not the affiliate) a 2nd even better product for $27 or what ever. That is the backend product. You offer it as a OTO or through your autoresponder.

    Basically, you are trying to get affiliates quick, by giving them 100% of the sale. You make your money when the customer buys the backend product - and you get 100% of that sale(assuming they buy the 2nd product).

    You can also offer the 2nd product within the content of the 1st product..

    Hi Michelle,

    Charles is spot on with his explanation. Willie uses RAP for a lot of what he does and this is the process he uses. Affiliates love the 100% commissions and are more apt to promote the dickens out of it.

    You can do like you are saying with RR on the OTO and offer a lower commission for it or none at all. The big consideration becomes the list of qualified buyers you are getting for future/other promotions, another tactic Willie uses well.

      Those who buy the resale rights would rather sell the product from their own site, rather than send their buyers to someone else's site... this way they can also control the back-end sales.

        THANK YOU! I was definitely feeling a bit dense, but through last night and all of today I just couldn't figure it out. Not sure why, since I seem to remember I didn't have this stumbling block the first time I listened to it several months ago. Weird. (Kind of like a word or phrase that suddenly twists your tongue and you keep mispronouncing. You may have had no trouble saying it before but all of a sudden, for no reason at all, you can't pronounce it correctly for the life of you.)
