Who Here Does Client Work?

When you are being interviewed by a prospective client and are asked to show proof of other campaigns, is there anything you hold out on (ex: not showing winning ads, etc)?

Just wanted to see what others refuse to give out about their clients, including their client list.

I never give out any client details. Full stop.

Aside from the many businesses I run, one of them is a web development agency. It really is fairly hands off for me nowadays, but the rule is: keep client data private. The only exception is web design (which is really our smallest area these days) and here we'll show web designs in a portfolio. The compromise here is explaining to the client, in simple and honest terms, what you hope to achieve, and if they require stats you should show them personal stats from your own concerns. I mean, I'm sure others do it differently, but that's how we do it.

      This ^^^^^.

If a prospect pushed for inside information, a three letter answer usually stopped that line of enquiry: NDA. Stands for Non-Disclosure Agreement.

That was my exception, too. If a piece of data was publicly available, like a website, I would show it. Even then, it was shown with permission.
