Should you put a blog on your website??

Hi there,

I am getting a website done and the designer said that more pages would be good as originally I was gonna have standard 5 pages and now decided to increase pages to about 8 and this was going to include an article page. Then the guy said today that a blog on your website would be better than an article page.

I guess this is good as the fresh content on the website will be good? Is this a good way to go with your own website?

I was going to ask is it better than having a separate blog but I guess you still could have other blogs aswell.

Any comments will be appreciated.

Many thanks

With a blog you can use plug-ins which would make your pages a bit more search engine friendly. You can also get plugins which auto update your blog which again is nice for the search engines..

I wouldn't pay a designer to set up a blog - you can easily do this yourself, and get some pretty cool themes for free too..

I would suggest installing wordpress. Wordpress can go a long was! It can even be used as a content management system.

You can still have a professional feel by editing the theme(s). There are even a lot of business/corporate themes available.

    Another shout out for WordPress...

You can base your entire site on WordPress, and if you set it to start on a static page you can make it look like a 'normal' website with an integrated blog - that would be very professional, particularly for a business oriented website.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

Why not also have a blog as a traffic generator?

You can generate visitors and funnel them to your offers.

    Hope This Helps!!

I think you should add a blog to the website rather than have a separate one. If you look at any Big successful website they almost all have a blog with it as well.

Having a blog with your site is going to lead your site to more traffic, easily be able to add important updates about your site to your blog, seo reasons and customers will have more trust and builds more credibility.
