Describe Your IDEAL Affiliate Program

Okay...

If you could snap your fingers like the Fonz and - BLAMMO - it creates the perfect affiliate program, what would it be like?

Note: The perfect affiliate program for affiliates.

Go wild. Even if it's nuts, I don't care.

Example:

"If I can send 1,000 joins in a day, they send me a free giraffe.."

Of course, sane suggestions are cool too, ha.

  • Since we're talking FANTASY here, here's mind: They give you free traffic Real traffic mind you-not proxy-driven bot traffic

    • Now that would be cool.

Not so crazy, though. I can think of another industry blueprint that could be overlaid here. You supply the content, the aff prog displays it. Hmmm . . . too tired to take this further but possibilities!
    • They pay out often.
They pay out a high % on each sale.
They are open to negotiating higher based on rising performance of my campaigns.
      They are respectful towards me.
They are grateful, and never make a fuss for any reason.
The relationship lasts a long time.
Most importantly: the product being offered is dynamite, and the sales page to which I send traffic is a grand slam.

  • I'd probably just increase the length of Amazon's cookie. Anything else I can think of is likely to get overly saturated and result in more drawbacks for me than benefits.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • The affiliate program is really second to me.

What is HARD to find these days is quality PRODUCTS. I'll choose a great product over a great affiliate program every day. It all comes down the the value you can provide to your list. That's why the product is always first and foremost to me... and how much I make from promoting it is a second thought.

    • I definitely agree with this. Well... almost. The reason that product is always first (for me at least) is precisely because I make more on good products -- even with relatively low affiliate commissions and short cookie lifespans such as with Amazon -- than I would with bad products -- even those with high affiliate percentages. But I think this is what WillR was trying to say anyway.

That said, if I really could find an affiliate program where the Fonz was involved -- I'd be all over that in a heartbeat! Aaaaeeeyyy!

  • Hmmmm, total fantasy? They give me a commission every time I breathe.
I'd say recurring commission affiliate programs are the best and especially those which actively test their traffic and constantly optimize for conversions and that provide me with plenty of resources to promote them. I want special coupons or bonus offers ready made for me that I can use to help drive sales thru my link. Also, since they're recurring they need to have a kickass service that customers will want to keep forever!
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Recurring commissions
    Easy to convert (few fields)
    Prompt and weekly payments
    Bonuses
    Incentives

I'm all out of ideas now
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • A Teespring affiliate program for designers. They said it was a good idea when I asked about it, but nothing yet.
  • Definitely that produces Residual Income
    every marketers dream!
and very affordable so that most people can join
knowing they will benefit from the value from the affiliate program
all the trainings all in one pack too
and how to drive traffic to our affiliate program in our bkoffice
let's face it we all need traffic..

    and also very converting ..
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • While it might not be the main idea for the perfect affiliate program, promotional materials is something that lacks with SO many programs.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Recurring and large commissions
High customer retention rate for long term residual revenue/quality product
Serves large audience for high volume sales
    High conversion rate
Lifetime cookie if prospect joins email newsletter
Effective selling tools such as replay webinars
Decent front end commission for leads with recurring commission on future sales
Affiliate program not publicized so there's little or no competition
Payment within thirty days or sooner
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Some very constructive ideas. Even some of the crazy ones.

Particularly like the ideas from Work1099, jgant, Ron Killian, Jayden1981, ChrisBa, and digitalairships.

Of course, there's method to my madness: I'm putting together an affiliate program and aside from brainstorming myself and with the team in the office, I can think of no better way to get ideas than from the folks who actively promote affiliate programs.

    Keep the ideas coming!
