I am making money online too, but not full time. I still have a regular job that covers the insurance.:-) But it is my plan to do full time on IM.

I'm doing this full time. I'm not making enough money yet, but I'm getting by... barely. I'm only two months into this sink-or-swim effort, though, so that's pretty good.

In general, it looks like success rate is low for people who want to do this, but rather high for those who just STFU and do it.

I live off my websites, and put myself through a $200,000 degree with them (and am paying for another degree, with absolutely no loans). It's definitely possible to make a living online, doing honest business, just like it is offline. You just need to find a way to connect people looking for something they'd pay money for with whatever they're looking for. That can be your product, someone else's product you resell, someone else's product you refer for a commission, a service you provide, etc. It all comes down to providing value for someone.

Dan, impressive results. Can you tell us, without revealing your secrets of course, what mix of product sales vs affiliate marketing vs ecommerce, etc contributes to this nice paycheck for you? How long did it take you to get here?

      Thanks

You can get to all my websites from my signature, no big secrets. The WordPress plugin, for example, generated over $80,000 of that 2008 revenue, and I detailed the development and marketing in the War Room for anyone interested to read.

Me doing any affiliate marketing is less than 10% of my income, although it's where I started out as a kid with a computer. I got my first affiliate commission check around 1998; I was 13 or 14 at the time. So I had an early start (I'm very self-directed!) and it wasn't until around 2003 (as I began college) that I was making enough to live comfortably and pay for school without a job.

On the other hand, affiliates selling my products for me makes up a significant chunk of my sales.
