How do I find out who syndicated my articles on Ezine Articles.

I have about 14 of my articles on Ezines that have been syndicated on other websites. I would like to know how can I get in contact with the website owner who republished my articles. Any thoughts.

    I usually run an exact match Google search for about ten words spanning a couple of sentences.

    This will also bring up those who simply stole your article, if you are inclined to send DMCA takedown notices.

    You could also set up a Google alert to let you know as soon as your article shows up in the index.

      I usually put the exact article title in quotes and my name in quotes. Probably doesn't get me all the reproduces, (I have a lot back to 2005) but the ones on sites that get some eyes. I don't think anything will get u all the sites. And yeah, I have seen the thieves too like John said, which usually pisses me off, so I don't check that often but those sites are bs usually.

      O.T. but I also learned not to link to any page on my site that I'm not convinced will be relevant years later. I didn't think of that stuff in the beginning before I had multiple sites etc. or worse that I sold or let the site go!

    I am really shocking after hearing the hateful event. Is there any "support" on that site, where you see that your article has been published without your permission? It is a plagiarism. They broken the copyright law.

      Allyssa, article syndication is not plagiarism nor does it involve stealing anyone's content. It's a way to increase your exposure. There are tons of threads here on WF regarding this topic. You can also do a Google search to understand it better.

      On the contrary: that's what article directories are there for: they're depositories of content available for people to re-publish. That's their whole purpose. Far from being "published without your permission", the author's intention in putting an article in a directory is for it to be re-published.

      That's why article directories exist.

        Unfortunately (or maybe not, in the grand scheme of things) it isn't really possible to monitor what's done with an RSS feed or via copy/paste.

        About the only thing you can do is monitor the situation yourself and take appropriate action if you choose. As Nick said, most of the sites still scraping/autoblogging are not threats, especially in the last couple of years worth of Google animals. Their visibility is gone and their links discredited for SEO purposes, for the most part.

        Just like having a bricks and mortar store, posting content on article directories runs the digital equivalent of having it shoplifted.

      It's not traditional plagiarism as they keep my name on the top and even leave the bio (minus the links - thanks!). If they say they wrote it - then I'm steaming mad. Bu It's just not playing by the rules, and well being a "Dick" - when you use an article and then removing the author bio and/or the links. These aren't real article directories. There is rarely a person or even an email to reach people on these scrapey sites to correct it. And no one is probably seeing it anyway, so I try not to sweat it.

    Run a search with "blog" or "blogspot" - I've caught a few that way but there is usually a way to reply or report that easier then some b.s private site.

    Simply copy and paste the title of the article into Google.

    It will pull out virtually all indexed articles with that title.

      Then just ignore the scraper sites. They'll drop into well-deserved obscurity soon enough.
